Small rant about Chavo Guerrero

He can't do the Three Amigos properly. It hurts watching that

Also, he's got a "normal" hairline now. I wonder how much that cost?

Afterlife 03-22-2008 05:06 AM

Bosley is affordable to most Americans. I'd imagine it's easily affordable to most ppl under his financial status.

The Naitch 03-22-2008 05:09 AM

you hear that BDC? There are no more excuses

Mr. Nerfect 03-22-2008 05:15 AM

Chavo does better rolling suplexes than Chris Benoit did. Chavo at least attempts the leg twirl to roll the opponent over.

Jura 03-22-2008 05:29 AM

Eddie does the leg twirl but he also does something else which I can't really explain. He stands at an angle and places his hand on their stomach instead of grabbing their tights on the side.

The Naitch 03-22-2008 05:34 AM

Eddie makes it look seemless and quick

Chavo doesn't, he takes too long and there's no bounce in it

Miss Eddie, also in Chavo's case, if you can't do it right, don't do it at all

That's very true. I don't think Chavo does a horrible job, to be honest. I wish he would shake things up and follow two rolled suplexes into his Brainbuster, or something, though.

Afterlife 03-22-2008 10:42 AM

Eh. Make your own classic moves. You can only honor someone for so long.

Verbose Minch 03-22-2008 12:21 PM

I liked Benoit's three Amigo's because he combined Eddie's with his own.

Also, I remember Benoit did the leg twirls once, and he had them down perfectly.

Hanso Amore 03-22-2008 01:57 PM

Chavo's entire moveset is a tribute to Gory, Classic and Eddie.

If Eddie never died he wouldnt be ECW champ. He would stilll be a curtain jerker.

Eddie did a tribute move for over 10 years...

And? dude it was Eddie, even if you wanted to hate him you couldn't, he used them but added a little Eddie flair to them

A tribute move. Chavo has a tribute moveset. The reason I enjoyed the Chavo/Punk months was b/c he tossed the moveset and actually battled Punk, and vice versa. Now that he's goin' thru motions until Mania, it's the same old crap again, and none of it is interesting or unique.

Dorkchop 03-22-2008 10:39 PM

Chavo's frog splash is a lot worse. I don't know if he still does it because I don't watch ECW, but he's never had a nice looking frog splash.

I'd say that was more of a whinge than a small rant.

Just thought I'd point that out...

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean Chavo Guerrero isn't a great wrester, with improving mic skills and more than appropriate levels of charisma. Chavo makes a fine ECW Champion, in my opinion.

By the way, which moves does Chavo use in tribute? I can only think of the three amigos, the Gory Bomb and the Frog Splash. Also, I must say that Chavo's Frog Splash has gotten better with time.

Ruien 03-23-2008 08:27 AM

He has done the Frog Splash like once.

RP 03-23-2008 08:42 AM

I bet Eddie Guerrero came up with that leg twirl while coked out.

like what tv shows have you been watching since he turned heel?

Lock Jaw 03-23-2008 02:23 PM

He was using the frog splash since like WCW.

thedamndest 03-23-2008 05:11 PM

Guerreros lie, cheat, and steal. What is the problem with this applying to moves?

Rob 03-23-2008 05:24 PM

Eddie Guerrero didn't invent the rolling suplex and nor did he own a wrestling move.

Rammsteinmad 03-23-2008 05:41 PM

Chris Benoit used to do three snap suplex's in a row when he was in WCW.

Just thought I say that.

Double Standard, much?

My statement was basically a counterpoint to the fact of "come up with your own moves." statement.

In case you're wondering: the move I'm referring to is the Frog Splash, which was Art Barr's finish.

Yeah, Benoit used to roll his snap suplexes. He did start doing a three amigos type tribute, though.

Exactly right. They did sort of become a trademark of him, though. When Benoit did them, or Chavo does them, it's obvious they were paying homage.

How long was Eddie doing the rolling suplexes for, anyway? I never really following his work as much as I should have, but I only really remember the "Three Amigos" being emphasised when he was on SmackDown! in his second WWE run. I mean, it's not like Ric Flair and the Figure Four, or anything.

I've said it many times before, but I'll say it again: I hate it when Rey Mysterio does something, and Michael Cole calls it "paying tribute." Chavo Guerrero will do a Frog Splash, though, and Michael Cole will cry "disrespectful." He'll then often spout off some bullshit about Eddie Guerrero being the first man to do the move (what the fuck?), completely neglecting to mention that Eddie Guerrero started using the Frog Splash in tribute to Art Barr.

Mr. Nerfect 03-23-2008 11:11 PM

I actually don't get why Chavo is a heel, to be honest.

Afterlife 03-23-2008 11:18 PM

Eddie didn't "own" the Lasso?

Well, right now he runs with Edge. That's enough for marks. He also injured Rey Mysterio savagely.

I guess so. But as far as things Chavo has said go, I think the man has been pretty much correct. Rey was riding Eddie's legacy. Chavo should have been the face in that feud, if you ask me.

The Optimist 03-24-2008 05:10 AM

I don't think WWE would ever legitimately try to turn Rey heel. And of course wether or not it made sense didn't matter.

I don't make excuses. I just don't care. I'll go bald like a real man, I ain't some vain motherfucker that needs hair.

Also, Chavo doesn't do a very good frogsplash.

BigDaddyCool 03-24-2008 02:04 PM

Also, Chavo is fantastic.

Tommy Gunn 03-24-2008 03:44 PM

I like Chavo, but aside from working with Rey and Benoit in 06/early 07, the guy is completely wrong to be carrying the ECW Title. We already know it's a show for surplus midcarders currently going nowhere, but at least have a decent champion to give it some prestige.

Get rid of the 'o0o0oo Chavo!' in his song too and the crappy music, and I think a more serious Chavo would be cooler. There's probably no chance he'll be the Champion after Mania so I hope WWE give some thought into giving him a slight repackage.

This is one of your opinions that I completely agree with. :y:

Chavo's music is greatness, too. I wouldn't change it. As much as I think Chavo will lose the ECW Championship at WrestleMania to Matt Hardy, it would make sense to have Chavo retain the belt against the Battle Royal winner (seeing as he is fresh), and then start a feud with them.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Matt Hardy for the ECW Championship? I'd buy into it.

All wrong. The ECW title is about as close as he's coming to a major title and it fits nicely on him. Especially within the storyline. And the Punk fued was pretty juicy. The "Ooooo Chavo" in his theme is probably one of the coolest parts of any theme in the WWE right now. I mark out every single time I hear it. And I can't think of a more serious Chavo besides making him Hardcore Chavo or Triple X Chavo.

You need to fix your "i mark out for this" list right now, seriously, you get wet in the pants when you hear "oooOOOOoooohhhh Chavo"? pleaes

Road Warrior 03-26-2008 11:34 AM

I mark out when I watch old school WCW vid's and hear Eddie and Chavo's old school porn music.
