Who here follow's the UFC?

I've vaguely followed it in the past years, mostly when Ken Shamrock was in the WWE, but i recently watched the PPV with Couture vs Belfort (the match where Couture got cut at the begining). Then i bought the UFC Ultimate Knockouts 1+2, after i watched that i took a liking to Phil Baroni, Vitor Belfort, Pedro Rizzo, B.J. Penn and Frank Mir. Who are some of your favorites and why?

Rob 03-14-2004 08:52 AM

I have followed it closely ever seen Bob Merowitz sold the company. Tito Ortiz is one my favourites purely because he is the star attraction and he backs up his mouth too. I usually look out for all the Brits so Lee Murray is a big favourite right now. I absolutely love watching Genki Sudo and Caol Uno too because of their pro wrestling backgrounds and fighting styles. Can't wait for the April 2 show.

watching Ortiz get his butt kicked by Couture, was great.

Rob 03-15-2004 06:15 PM

I think this will be a much better Tito Ortiz performance.

Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz are on Last Call with Carson Daily.

They are mad pissed at each other. They aren't yelling or anything, but you can tell.

Tito called Chuck a bitch.

Haha! Tito can work with the best of them. That's how you sell a match.

Yeah, from what I hear Tito and Chuck are really pretty close. They trained together for a while, I think they're just trying to sell the card right now.

Which the UFC needs. I mean I've heard people say that sort of stuff has no place in UFC, Pride, KotC, ect, but really it can only help buyrates. Let them work the media here and there to sell tickets, then let them hook the fans through the action.

Cant wait for Tito vs Liddel

I have seen a few matches whenever my uncle brings tapes up. Gotta follow my hometown boy Randy Coture.

Of course it has a place. For a start the most over guy in the world in the MMA world is a pro wrestler (Bob Sapp). A wrestler drew one half of the biggest gate America in MMA history (Ken Shamrock). UFC have found the right mix now in my opinion. Wrestling style promos and vignettes with boxing style entrances. I don't know of one person who saw Lee Murray's entrance on the last show and didn't love it.

The show this Friday should be a cracker and for all you WWE fans out there thinking about buying a show, take the money you would spend on Judgment Day and buy this show instead.

Rob 04-02-2004 01:08 PM

Tim Sylvia failed another drug test and he has been pulled from the show.

Hey Rob, if it's possible, can you post the result's for tonights ppv? I had to work tonight and am not able to watch :( . It would be really appreciated. Thanks.

HeartBreakMan2k 04-02-2004 10:41 PM

On a side note, I was going through my tapes. I have every UFC tape from 1 through 19. Then several pride tapes. Gotta buy some more though.

I struggled to stay awake for the show since it didn't start until 4am here. That was with two naps since 5pm too!

HBK2K did an absolutely fu</>cking awesome job though. :y:
