How Hulk Hogan wanted to retire Ric Flair

Remember about a month ago, when Hogan was saying that he should be the one facing Flair in the retirement match? Well, here is how he would have booked that match according to an interview on Bubba the Love Sponge

The summary comes from a poster on the Wrestling Classics boards.

Quote:

Oh Hogan didn't even try to lie and say he'd job, his idea was to have him vs. Flair with Vince as the ref. He said have Flair put the figure four on him and he'd Hulk out of it, He'd do the comeback then drop the leg on him 1-2-....Vince stops the count Hogan gets up to take out Vince but Shane runs in with a chair and hits him. Vince and Shane are double teaming Hogan, Flair intervenes and saves him and they fight them off together then they pose together.

So....in Hogan's mind the thing missing from the Flair retirement was Hogan. He would have made the whole thing about him...big shock huh? He says that would've drew money. (I'm guessing Wrestlemania drew plenty of money without Hogan.

Brother.

thedamndest 04-01-2008 07:37 PM

How does that retire Flair? Oh, because posing with Hogan makes you a loser.

Mr. Nerfect 04-01-2008 07:50 PM

LOL, does the bell get rung anywhere in that scenario?

The Optimist 04-01-2008 08:33 PM

So . . . instead of a five-star match with one of Ric's best friends we would have gotten a Hulk out and then a cluster pose.

IC Champion 04-01-2008 08:38 PM

LOL!

I can't wait until he starts his own business.

I hope Hogan's creative team consists of the re-res at Mad TV and that wacky joker from the 700 Club.

Blue Demon 04-01-2008 09:22 PM

Oh Brother

Heros Welcome 04-01-2008 09:24 PM

Now would be the perfect time for the "Hogan Knows Dick" sig to make an appearance.

RVDmark 04-01-2008 09:29 PM

Thank fuck WWE didn't go with that. Thankyou, Thankyou Vince for not doing that.

Good Ol JG 04-01-2008 09:32 PM

typical Hogan. all wrestling revolves around him, don't ya know.

Fox 04-01-2008 09:49 PM

that is a total WCW idea

BigDaddyCool 04-01-2008 10:45 PM

Totally sweet.

Afterwards does Hogan dig up Andre's bones just to give them a body slam again.

thedamndest 04-01-2008 10:57 PM

This would have concluded the six month run where Flair took the souls of his defeated opponents in order to survive a la Shang Tsung.

Kind of hard, considering that Andre was cremated... :D

What he can do is dig up Yokozuna's bones so he can body slam them. After all, he needs to get that job back. :p

There we go

KYR 04-01-2008 11:34 PM

WTF????

So at the end, he wouldn't even leave Ric in the ring alone - his moment - to thank the crowd etc. Hogan HAS to be there as well to pose with Ric.

Give me a break.

NYDon 04-01-2008 11:42 PM

Too bad hoegan

Kliq got there first

U-Warrior 04-02-2008 12:03 AM

Um...one problem.

There is no pinfall or submission in that, so flair wouldn't retire.

That's what makes it so damn impressive!

Dorkchop 04-02-2008 01:11 AM

Oh, Hogan.

Ric Flair's final match was perfect. He wanted to face the best wrestler in the world and have a great, emotional, match. Hogan should never be allowed to be the head writer or booker for a wrestling company. Even if he wasn't wrestling, he'd run it in the ground. Actually... didn't Hogan say he's starting his own company that will give Vince a run for his money?

Rammsteinmad 04-02-2008 01:33 AM

That's actually not a bad idea from Hogan.

:shifty:

That idea is so bad that even Bill Wats, Kip Frey, Bischoff and Russo would look at Hogan with the shifty eye....

Let's hope his retirement match is like that, but with him as Flair and Cena...wait...

Fabien Barthez 04-02-2008 08:02 AM

Lol. Can you imagine Flair's final moment in the sun in Pro Wrestling, doing Hogan bodybuilder poses with HIS physique? Not the most dignified way of going out.

Got to love The Hulkster though, he tries bless him!

Londoner 04-02-2008 08:36 AM

LOL goddamn hogans such a fucking egotistical control freak.

I doubt Hogan is in decent enough shape to slam one of Andre's femurs. Even when you take into consideration that they're probably half dust...

BigDaddyCool 04-02-2008 07:33 PM

I keep re-reading it just for a good laugh. Got he is a dick face.

Bad Company 04-02-2008 09:17 PM

lol, there is no way Hogan actually wanted to do that. Blame the IWC.
