Mick Foley Trashing Wrestling?

I have heard on other threads, specificaly from Kane Knight, that Mick Foley has recently been trashing pro wrestling. I know that he has said alot about Vince McMahon and the WWE, but I have not heard him lash out about the business in general.

I like to think I follow this stuff pretty well but I have not heard about this, have any of you?

I've not heard anything but I admit I'd be surprised if it's true in the sense that I'm reading it in, especially as he made it on to Mania the other night, albeit for a few seconds.

Ask Kane Knight since you mentioned his name.

For the record, I said nothing about recently..

My secret is out.

No, but seriously, am I the only one who remembers him badmouthing wrestling back when he first left to start doing books? He had a lot to say which was reported all over the net. And, as I told BDC, I took it with some degree of skepticism right up until the point I saw him talking shit about it live and in person at the Basketball HoF in Springfield promoting some literacy program and reading a children's book out loud. Apparently, Mick had a planned series of Children's books featuring WWE characters as like Chibis or something. I think it was called Rascal Lane or something about that, and the WWE "Rascals" were like mini cartoon versions of wrestlers. So like Chibi Kane and Chibi Devon. And I mean, AS he's shilling a product that he'd need Vince's agreement to do, he was talking about how in a couple of months, when his contract was up, he'd have more to say about the WWF/E specifically.

What happened? I don't know. My hypothesis is that he learned the hard way that nobody gives a fuck about Foley outside the wrestling world, and his books wouldn't sell without shilling himself on TV. I don't have proof to that, but this is the guy who spoke to us about leaving wrestling to save his good name, and then came back to blow Edge in order to sell a book.

As much as I love Foley, sadly KK hit the nail on the head there

BigDaddyCool 04-04-2008 12:51 PM

That and foley is full of shit.

Well, sometimes business relations and personal relations conflict. And sometimes, no matter how much you want to say "Hell with them, I'll do it myself," you find out you need all the publicity you can get. I wouldn't say it's right or wrong either way; That's up to the individual, really.

Leave Foley alone... he doesn't have a pension and he doesn't work full-time. The man's got to make money somehow to support his growing family and the houses' he bought when he was making lots of money.

The man is plenty rich from his time in wrestling. By his own admission, he and Owen Hart were the only guys who didn't go out and blow their money on booze, drugs and hookers. He's well off.

CM Punk is not on that list? I know he was a faker.
