Burning DVDs

Ok, the new computer I got has a DVD Burner, I have now, about 70GB of movies, and Sitcom seasons which I would like to burn to DVD.

How?!!!

Everything I try will not work, if I try the burnt DVD in the player, it reads as WRONG DISC.

How exactly am I to burn a DVD that will work, I have a program called NTI right now for burning, really unfamiliar with it, I tried burning straight to disc, that didn't work either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Nero 8 does everything you need. Get rid of that other crap. Beware, it takes like 2 hours to burn a full dvd from a video file (avi, mpg). :(

Google "DVD Flick" it's a freeware program that is amazing. Make sure you go into project settings and choose "NSTC" under the Video Target Format setting. Takes about 2-3 hours for a normal 700MB AVI

takes me 10 minutes to burn a whole DVD of Nitro episodes as data dvd. That's all you really need to do. It takes me 2 hours when I burn PPV's because I create menus for them.

I use MYDVD

FA first you need to convert all your avi's to VOB files, as it sounds like your DVD player doesn't play avi's.

not really. if you have a dvd burner that can burn data dvd's, you can do it without having to convert. usually all dvd burners can burn data to dvd. like I said, all my Nitros, shoot interviews, PPV's are .avi files. I have to convert the PPV's to .VOB because I make menus. But for the TV Nitro episodes, I burn them as data dvd's. takes about 10 minutes

I had a program called ConvertX to DVD, a buddy told me about this, but I forgot it, I tried it today and it works fine.

Also tried DVDivine (Came with Vista) and that worked also.

Thanks Y'all for your help though.

Yes but if your stand alone DVD player doesn't read avi's then you have to convert to VOB in order for them to play.
