What are some good XBLA games?
 

I finally grabbed my first non-free live game: Mr Driller. Probably gonna get TMNT the Arcade Game, too. What else out there is good?

Yeah, I don't like the Mortal Kombat games.

I'm not sure I'll grab SSF2HD either, but it's more because I'm not sure I could play the retro shit after playing the more recent games.

Geometry Wars is the shit, though.

What's so special about this new SFIIHD ish? New graphics? I mean, I already have SF Anniversary Collection (SFIII 3rd Strike and Hyper SFII) and Capcom Classics Collection 1 and 2, so that's like 50 versions of SFII between the 3 of them.

And to answer the title, I have Double Dragon, Assault Heroes and TMNT Arcade. Pretty sexy games.

But you could always just d/l the demos to see if you like them.

Udon, The people who draw the current comic series, are redoing all the sprites and backgrounds. They aren't adding anything to the backgrounds, just spiffying them up. But the character models look damn good.

Oh, then I'll probably be good without it then.

What's N+?

Ikaruga is almost as awesome as I remember. The only shitty thing is you can't rotate the controls along with the screen.

Small Arms is a hectic 2D shooter/platformer and is pretty fun

Puzzle Quest (which is out on every format ever concieved)

It's this deceptively simple game where you are a ninja and you have to get from the beginning of the room to the door switch, open the door and exit through the door. The catch is that you have to use all your ninja moves to get through the room, which is full of gaps, ledges and traps.

Downloaded the demo of Ikaruga.

I fancy myself as fairly good at top down shooters.

It kicked my ass on easy.

I suck at top down shooters, so it's no surprise I got nuked shortly into the second level.

K, so I had no idea about the polorization thing when playing the demo.

Bought it, and even though i did better, i still died on level 2.

Fuck's sake this game is gonna be my nemesis.

Dude, wait til you get further into the second level. Its insane. Didn't get to the boss, but could tell i was close.

For the record, I beat the game on the Gamecube version. It's insane, but mad fun. It took me forever to get good at it once, though, and it's gonna take me forever to get good at it again I bet. But it's SO fun.

I liked N+ so much, I unlocked the demo today.

Fucking Ikaruga.

A good strategy for shooters is not to think. Just react. Because most of them just throw a ton of shit at you and say "GOOD LUCK, FUCKER!". I f you put yourself in the zone, you'll do better than if you're thinking about each move.

But not I karuga. Nooooooooooooooooooo. Those fuckers put shit in your way that FORCE you think, breaking you out of your trance. And you only got a split second to think of how do get past it before you are overwhelmed.


Fuckers.

Love this game.

I'm a go get some more MS points and get to getting N+ and Castlevania. So many awesome games in the arcade, but I'm broke as a joke.

I just dropped 30 bucks on Samurai Warriors 2 XL and it doesn't even work.

Geometry Wars' menu screen is seizurific.

Not to mention when you get past like 100,000, the entire screen is like anime. Colourful and will turn you into an epileptic in 2.9 seconds.
