Heyman, you were wrong....

You said that the crowd would be dead during the main event and that they wouldn't be behind Benoit at all. WOW, you were wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:p :foc:

Sorry, I just had to point that out to you since you make a habit out of pissing me off so much...

Oh yeah, and if RVD gets traded to Smackdown, you can make fun of me then ok?

Anyone reading this that is not Heyman, will not understand this probably, but whatever...

Rob 03-15-2004 02:53 PM

Funny how Benoit and Foley were practically the only two workers to get their names chanted during their matches all night.

Oh yeah, remember when I was one of the only people around here saying they would be stupid to put the WWE title on John Cena? I think last night proved me right. The guy was freaking awful (and I actually like him).

Sephiroth 03-15-2004 02:56 PM

I gotta agree...he is a good wrestler though, but yesterday wasn't great in IMO, but i am glad he won the US title it's better then seeing Big Show with the title.

SuperSlim 03-15-2004 02:59 PM

I would much rather see Cena with a belt then Show

Loose Cannon 03-15-2004 03:03 PM

Yeah Cena didn't work well with Show last night. He's a crowd entertainer though, which means he does sh** that makes the crowd pop like the "You can't see me", the "Shoulder Shuffle, " the pumping up the sneakers. Seriously, I can't stand wrestlers like that. I loved Cena as a Heel, but face Cena kind of blows.

The Duck 03-15-2004 03:14 PM

Cena rules. He was wrestling the Big Show and that's no easy task (especially at his size). Kicking the show off with him was a great idea and down the line (fingers crossed) he could be WWE Champion - he just needs to intergrate more 'serious, match-selling' promos into his character.

BasicThuganomics 03-15-2004 03:18 PM

Yeah, I agree about Cena. While he is definately capable of being THE MAN in the WWE in a couple of years or so. I don't think he is ready to be main eventing just yet. He's got tons of potential though, but in the ring he still needs to improve. Experiance is really all Cena is lacking IMO.

Kane Knight 03-15-2004 03:28 PM

Cena was not at his best last night.

but still, he was working with the Big Show.

As already noted.

Rob 03-15-2004 03:39 PM

It isn't just his work though. He hasn't cut a decent rap since Survivor Series and I wouldn't say he has even had a good match with anyone other than Benoit or Angle in the last year.

MVP 03-15-2004 03:45 PM

The fans are behind Cena now primarily because of his push.

A lot of them, including myself, want to see Cena come out on top one day.

John la Rock 03-15-2004 03:46 PM

hahaha

Rob 03-15-2004 03:46 PM

One day being the key. There are at least 5 other guys I'd push ahead of him right now.

Corkscrewed 03-15-2004 03:47 PM

Heel-type promos are almost always better than face promos with Cena's sort of character, so that could explain the downgrade in promos. Of course, last night, he wrestled Show, and to my knowledge, the only people who can possibly get good matches out of him are Lesnar, Benoit, and Angle.

Scarface 03-15-2004 04:36 PM

I knew Benoit was popular but the crowd were 100% behind him, even sitting at home I was overwhelmed. The guys in the ring must have been shocked too. Especially at the Michaels boos.

Rob 03-15-2004 04:39 PM

Michaels was getting booed. It's New York, they don't like him.

The Duck 03-15-2004 04:41 PM

He got popped pretty big for his World title win at Survivor Series 2002 at MSG.

I did think that when I wrote this and I told my brother the same last night during the show but I think that was a bad mistake by the Garden fans.

The Mackem 03-15-2004 05:58 PM

Rob, why don't the New York public like Michaels?

Dunno, probably because he is a cocky pretty boy. He got beat up in Syracuse too remember. I think he doesn't drink coffee too.

The Mackem 03-15-2004 06:07 PM

Unforgiveable.

I think it was that and a pretty solidly pro-Benoit feeling. Michaels was sort of the tweener out of the three of them, Benoit was the pure face.

Funny how those 2 are my favorite 2 wrestlers ever as well. Maybe I should move to New York

Out of curiousity, who do you think deserves main event oushes the most?

The CyNick 03-16-2004 06:54 PM

I dont know it came across on TV, but Cena was one of the most over guys on the show. During his match there were all kinds of Cena chants. I'd put him just behind the Benoit title win, and the Evolution-RocknSock match. But again maybe on TV it seemed different. Cena needs a good solid run with the US title as the semi main event player alongside Eddie. He doesn't have to be Benoit in the ring, because he's already twice as over as Benoit is.

Eddie was getting chants throughout his match, but it was quiet to start because there were a ton of Angle fans.

Flair was way over, especially when he was in with Rock, actually I didn't think Foley was as over as I thought he'd be in the Garden.

The Benoit thing grew as the match went on, much as I figured. I think the fans were thinking that HHH would somehow get out of doing a JOB, thankfully they were wrong. By the time they got to the finish, the crowd was going crazy for the title switch, which is as much Benoit's doing as it was the booking and everyone involved in the match.

Taker also got a huge pop and chants for his entrance, but I think people were dumbfounded with his new stupid look.

Hey CyNick, what was the reaction for the Trish turn and the Orton RKO?

Both got good heat.

I think people expected Foley to get up from the RKO, but as we all know nobody gets up from that.

Trish kissing Christian was a heat seeking missle as well.

Benoit did an outstanding job wrestling for the World Heavyweight Title. I also think that it's wierd to make the World Heavyweight Title a MAIN EVENT (LAST MATCH) kinda thing. The WWE title signifies all that is the WWE, and the World Heavyweight just came from WCW, so it's a WCW Title. I also think that splitting the titles was just lame. For example... the WWE TAG TITLES, and the WORLD TAG TITLES. Lame, but then again for benoit, he desrved that belt.

By the way, did anyone notice that Triple H is fatter?

WCW is a WWE owned trademark, so it really doesn't matter at this point.

I know what you are saying, but I dont think the WWE sees that title as a WCW property, they see it as a WWE belt, too bad they didn't think that way regarding WCW when they could have made some big time money off it.

Damn internet!

rottednation 03-17-2004 07:07 PM

I dig it. But still, it's just me, I guess...

BasicThuganomics 03-18-2004 01:08 AM

I'm bumping because the main point of this thread is for Heyman to see that he was wrong, and i want to see what he says...
