Okay serious WM 21 research

On/off topic? I dunno. Anyways... How many people does the Staples Center hold for wrestling/boxing (not any other sports)? I've tried looking but can't find any info. Also, being that I have never had any interest in LA, what the hell is there to do out there? If I'm gonna go, I'm gonna need other things to do.

That will do for now.

blueskies 03-15-2004 04:05 PM

go to hollywood

Corkscrewed 03-15-2004 04:07 PM

http://www.staplescenter.com/

My internet is slow right now, so you can browse.

Around the Los Angeles area, you can visit:
Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland Resort (theme parks)
Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Santa Monica Pier, the beaches, Griffith park, LA Zoo

Um... I'm too lazy to remember the rest. I just hope the crowd will be better than Wrestlemania 2000.

Pegasus Crawford 03-15-2004 04:12 PM

Well, you can visit Hollywood. :D

As for the Staples Center itself, it has a seating capacity of around 15,000 (for hockey games) to 18,000 (for basketball games). I'd like to know the reasoning in why the WWE would choose such a venue for their biggest PPV of the year.

Because obviously they'll be able to fit around 93,000 into it, ala wm3.

:shifty:

The Naitch 03-15-2004 04:19 PM

Rob's sig is the bomb

And I wonder how The Rock will fit into this whole Wrestlemania in LA thing?

Corkscrewed 03-15-2004 04:21 PM

He'll be there. Duh.

Rob 03-15-2004 04:25 PM

Doesn't say sh</>it on Staples Center site. I checked it last night.

Okay so Hollywood (whatever the hell that is. Hogan's house I'm guessing). What else? They got theme parks there? Is that Carman Electra club open to real people? What sports are played at that time of year?

Corkscrewed 03-15-2004 04:29 PM

Well, I listed the theme parks already. Six Flags is about a 45 minute drive from Staples, while Knott's and Disneyland are about a 45 minute drive in the opposite direciton (southeast).

I dunno about the club, though there are tons of clubs in the LA area. Downtown LA is actually kinda nice to visit.

Around this time, it's pro basketball and hockey being played. Of course, they'll be played AT the Staples Center....

My guess for capacity would be about the same as MSG, whatever that was.

So I take it your from Cali? You gonna put me up? :shifty:

Pegasus Crawford 03-15-2004 04:37 PM

Well, the WWE has heald events in the Staples Center before. Unforgiven 2002 took place there. The attendance was roughly around 16,000. Smackdown held a house show there in November of 2003, and the attendance was around 6,000. There have been Raw events held there as well, don't know the attendance figures, though.

The Duck 03-15-2004 04:39 PM

Why such a small arena? Weird.

So he can sell out another shitty WrestleMania. :shifty:

Rob 03-15-2004 05:03 PM

He could sell it out if it was in the Georgia Dome though.

Loose Cannon 03-15-2004 05:08 PM

WM 21 Main Event: Randy Orton vs whomever and Orton wins the Title. How do you like that.

loopydate 03-15-2004 05:10 PM

Seeing as how I want to move to California eventually anyway, I'm strongly considering actually going to this one.

Even after what happened last night...

Don't like it. Orton shouldn't get the title for another 2 years or until he is regularly working **** matches. Whatever comes first.

The simplest answer is usually the correct one. ;)

JJ Moore 03-15-2004 05:41 PM

Axl lives about 20 mins away, if he doesnt arrive on time to perform, they can go and grab him within 45 mins.

The Naitch 03-15-2004 06:19 PM

Cena vs. Orton at Wrestlemania 21

Iceman90 03-15-2004 06:43 PM

DISNEY LAND!!

PureHatred 03-15-2004 06:48 PM

Unless you're 10, don't bother going to Disneyland. Hit Six Flags, go to the Santa Monica pier, and do some shopping on Melrose (retro-alternative clothing, Golden Apple comics, and the best tatoos in the city). Downtown L.A. is a shit hole unless you're looking for um...drugs, or something. And unless you're with locals don't hit downtown at night.

The best clubs are on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood..White Orchid, Dublin's, Saddle Ranch..ad the best restaurants are on Ventura Blvd in Encino. I'm assuming you're over the age of 21. If you're not ignore the preceding paragrapgh.

Also, if you are for London, prepare to be STUNNED by the best looking girls on the planet. Not all natural, but who cares?

O..and unless you've been here, you won't be prepared for this. RENT A CAR!!! L.A. is sprawling...everywhere you go is going to be at least a 30 minute drive on the freeway.

And unless you're bringing fat stacks, don' bother trying to catcha Laker game AND WM. Maybe the Clips...

PureHatred 03-15-2004 06:57 PM

Been to NY..it's not even close. Mainly because so many of the really hot chicks from around the country move out here thinking they'll be famous and end up working at Satrbucks. Plus, with the weather out here in March, they're wearing less clothing.

We have many good looking chicks in London. However, it should be known in advance I have a track record of attracting psychotic American broads.

I'll more than willing to hit all them clubs though. I don't think I'll be old enough to rent a car (I'll be 24 then). Hopefully something can be sorted out.

You are the man though for the info! :y:

spd10000 03-15-2004 10:28 PM

Here's something else to do in Los Angeles that nobody's mentioned yet... Dodge bullets! F'n gangs.

Corkscrewed 03-16-2004 01:06 AM

LOL. Only if you're in South Central. Oh wait, it's not called that anymore. I mean only if you're in "South LA." Or Compton.

Anyway, Pure Hatred's right. I know cuz I go to USC, home of the hottest college chicks on Earth. :D

Rob 03-16-2004 01:52 PM

Bobby gonna have a good old time then :D

John la Rock 03-16-2004 02:22 PM

Since the Staples center is the home to both the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, there will be a maximum of like 25, 000 in attendance.

Sephiroth 03-16-2004 02:28 PM

Come to New York it is all fun over here, you can wrestle with guys who try to mug you or you can just run your lungs out. All fun all day 24/7 :-\

DaveWadding 03-16-2004 02:31 PM

I'm going to try and orchestrate being at WM21, as by then I'll have a car and such...
