Only thing winding me up about Mania feedback

All these people making comments such as "props to HHH for losing clean to Benoit last night" and whatever. I know I proved already fans are stupid and everything but for Christ sake... IT'S HIS FREAKING JOB! HE IS MEANT TO LOSE CLEAN!

Okay it's off my chest........ for now.

Loose Cannon 03-15-2004 05:07 PM

LOL, who said that?

Scarface 03-15-2004 05:10 PM

What winds me up is all the people going all queer eye over what the undertaker was wearing.

Champion of Europa 03-15-2004 05:11 PM

If you're asking if I would ever date a wrestler, certainly I would. However it wouldn't be good business for me to get romantically involved with anyone in any aspect of our business.- Stephanie McMahon: Off the Record, 8/3/99

It just fits.

And he was meant to be seeing Hunter on the sly roughly about the same time too.

The Mackem 03-15-2004 05:46 PM

Stephanie's a girl if you haven't noticed Rob.

Rob 03-15-2004 05:50 PM

He/she who gives a sh</>it.

Fabien Barthez 03-15-2004 08:48 PM

If she is a he then my last 4 years of masturbation seem wasted.

Amen to that. Benoit's recent push has been the first case of solid title buildup that HHH DIDN'T ruin by refusing to drop the belt when the time came. He did his job. I don't see Big Show, Angle, or Molly getting any specific respect for losing their title matches, why the hell should HHH get any?

HHHsucks929 03-15-2004 09:09 PM

What are you talking about? If it's his job, then Triple H ahsn't dne his "job" in a long time. The only thing I'm proud of is the fact that ehw as able to swallow his pride and give his belt to someone he thinks of as "less worthy" than him of being champioln, even though Benoit's been around much logner than he has and has more than paid his dues.

Rob 03-15-2004 09:17 PM

HHH thinks everyone is less worthy than him. That's the problem. That doesn't mean he should be commended for dropping a title clean when being told to since that is what world champions are meant to do.

HHH has always said the champion should be the best wrestler in the company. Well the two best wrestlers in the company are finally walking around with the world titles.

YOUR Hero 03-15-2004 10:17 PM

HHH will have the belt back soon enough.

Corkscrewed 03-16-2004 01:00 AM

HHH losing just raises my view on him a bit. Of course, with my view lying sideways on the ground, there really wasn't any farther it could sink, so it really doesn't mean anything.

We've just been so conditioned to HHH not doing his job that when he does, it's a huge surprise.

But Rob! Benoit and Guerrero can't work "the main event style"!!!!

Their Fan Base will help them through it...

Oh, come on. You have to give mad props to Big Show for jobbing clean.

It reminds me of the Chris Rock joke where he says " 'I take care of my kids.' Well what do you want? A COOKIE?"

It's that whole "bad boy syndrome." When a problem child does everything wrong, then does something right, people are all over him, praising him. It doesn't matter how trivial it is.

Granted, I'm shocked as fu</>ck, but it's not because I suddenly love Triple H. I'm shocked that he did his job for like the first time in what? 2 years? But it's what he SHOULD be doing...Nothing more...While I'm surprised, I'm not impressed, and I'm not gonna hump Triple H's leg JUST because he did this once...

E.G. They can't properly rim Vince.

CAN AH GET AH WITNESS?

AHMEN BROTHAH!

Seriously, yeah. Triple A can't entertain like Eddie can, and he can't wrestle like Chris can. Hell, he's not half the performer of either.

Triple H was prolly just applying lip service to the title.

I just can't see why it's worth walking around with a belt you've personally devalued.

Rock Bottom 03-16-2004 11:52 AM

Big Show didn't job clean.

I agree, in the "Do you still hate HHH thread" everyone made it seem as if he is better for doing that one job.

Well for a start, I told everyone for months Bret Hart wouldn't be back and then on a public forum told everyone I was going to out-right lie and say he is and within 30 mins, the blatantly bullsh</>it thread that I admitted I would be making up in advance was full of people believing it.

Thanks for the negative feedback though dickhead.

I believed it , though I didn't see you say you'd lie, nor did I pay attention to your "No Bret Hart" posts. Plus it was also a fools hope .

For what it's worth, I believed you.

Of course, I don't believe in just jumping on any rumour that comes out anyways...I did think the Bret rumour would be nice if it happened, but it seemed a little too much...

The CyNick 03-16-2004 07:07 PM

This whole thing with Hunter is going much as I figured it would. Hunter got everything he wanted. He got to headline the "biggest show of all time", he had arguably the match of the night by surrounding himself with two of the best workers int he company (HHH held his own as well, dont get me wrong), and now he looks like a hero for doing a squeky clean JOB.

Now he can let Benoit run with the ball, and as we all know Benoit will not increase business all that much, Hunter can shoot his movie, and then come back and say "I did a JOB at Mania, so nobody can refuse to lay down". He'll get the title back by Summerslam (at the very latest) and we'll be back to the familiar spot of HHH on top. The roster shuffle is a bonus because he'll get some fresh talent to work with when he comes back.

Nobody should be going crazy patting Hunter on the back, but at the same time at least he put over Benoit clean, and did what he could to make him look good. Hey I'll praise him for that, I know he has a plan, but I'll give him credit for doing his first proper JOB since Taker 3 years ago.

Rob 03-18-2004 02:18 PM

Cynick knows the score here guys.

The Duck 03-18-2004 06:57 PM

To be fair to Hunter he jobbed clean to Goldberg two PPVs straight so 3 years is a bit of an exaggeration.

Just telling it like it is :)

Scarface 03-19-2004 04:52 AM

Wow The CyNick has figured out Trips evil conspiracy. I wonder if he'll "disappear" now...

Shaggy 03-19-2004 05:06 AM

No matter what he did, the only thing that matters is that Triple H will regain the title so then when he loses it clean again we can all start back over. Or when he loses it dirty we can all argue why he couldnt to it clean. Either way people will always argue where the name Triple H is.

lol, if you didn't think Hunter was going to use that as leverage, you haven't watched much wrestling.

Actually you haven't. There is a lot more than a finish of a match. Triple-H worked the match to expose every weakness Goldberg had and then made sure the finish looked false because getting beat. If he would have took the spear and then the jackhammer instead of hitting Goldberg with the sledgehammer in the Elimination Chamber then I would have said he did a clean job that meant something. He made sure everyone knew he, the heel, outsmarted the babyface and that's plain stupid.

What I seriously don't understand is why he doesn't make stars even if he hates that person. If more people like it, more people buy tickets and PPVs and then he makes more money. Maybe he is obsessed with being a fake world champion in a fake sport.

I've been saying this for the longest time, especially when people say "Well, if you were in his shoes, you'd do the same."

No.

I'm a greedy fu</>ck, I admit, but I'd rather be making money than holding on to a title that's about as credible in the real world as Toby McGuire shooting webbing out of his ass and eating flies. I'd rather be a main eventer in a business that makes money than the king of a dream world that loses it.

Buuuuuut, you know, some people see things different, I guess.
