I don't get these people.
|
I didn't know he was still employed :o
But still :foc: |
They have to pay Foley that announcing money. And isn't it time for another Diva search soon?
|
Who?
|
Batista?
|
The Red Rooster?
|
When I was going through the rosters for an as-yet-unnamed web project, I wondered why certain people were still listed, Taylor included.
|
Where is Alienoid? I'm expecting at least 2 paragraphs from him when he gets in here.
|
I give him credit, I thought he was set to be released as soon as Regal jumped to Raw last June, thus breaking up their team.
|
Didn't they have the brand new Irish guy teaming with him on house shows? Dave Taylor was a cool brawler, like Finlay, but we already had a cool European brawler who can't talk right. Like Finlay. I mean, he's cooler than Mike Knox or Big Vis. Not too cool.
If they don't have a plan for him, I don't care about him either. |
MacIntyre is SCottish, not Irish, but yes, they were teaming. The Mac got suspended, and sent to FCW.
|
Oh, man, not Rocky Dave...
He is ancient, though. |
MacIntyre was never suspended.

Avoid the Noid!

He's got his own little world on here.
"Hemnoid" - for when he's talking shit. |
Anoid - When you piss him off, this is what he becomes.

ParaNOID. What he is most the time with KK and BDC.

Took long enough. Now fire Burchill.

Another Brit bites the dust.
Isn't it time the WWE got its British stars to put on American accents, like they do in the movies? Might get over then. |
They already get them to put on fake accents as it is.
Regal has a Northern, Lancashire accent in his usual speaking voice, yet has been orating like a pompous aristocratic toff on TV for coming on two decades. I'd wager that, after over two decades of living in Germany and then the States, Finlay's Irish accent isn't quite as pronounced these days in real life as it is on TV. And even Burchill now speaks with an "American English" accent, now he's billed as being from Chelsea. One of the few Brits ever to escape the upper-class, or indeed any, kind of stereotyping was Davey Boy Smith, and even he had to claim in his thick Leeds accent that "Lundun Engloond is mah hoom town". |
Dave Taylor was a great wrestler. It's a shame he had to go, but from a cost-cutting perspective, it made sense. Now if only they can get rid of Mike Adamle, Jonathan Coachman, Big Daddy V, Mark Henry, Snitsky, Mike Knox, The Great Khali and Vladimir Kozlov.
He could have done great stuff for the developmental guys, but seeing as wrestlers are barely allowed to wrestle these days, Taylor may as well be a water cooler. |
What's up with the coach?
I would seriously consider putting him PBP on ECW. Sure, he's no Joey Styles, but he's a damn sight better than Adamle. |

Just no Adamle and Coach together. I don't dislike Coachman, it's just he's not knowledgeable enough (from what I've seen) to be a really good play-by-play guy, and he doesn't have the character to be an effective colour commentary guy. I wanted to say "ring experience" to be a great colour man, but Paul Heyman was never a wrestler, and he was fantastic.
I don't know, it just seems like the WWE are interested in embarrassing Coach more than using him. Why keep him around if you need to cut costs? I like him well enough, and I think a lot of the SmackDown! announce team's problems came from Coachman trying too hard to follow the WWE's rules for commentary, instead of going with his gut (plus he was overambitious with the role, and was trying to broaden his character to more unbiased face areas, which I admired, but was a massive risk that didn't pay off). |
Damn it.
Dave Taylor is a great worker who's been around forever. They should hire him to work in FL, to teach the rookies how to work. Best Dave story I was told was by Shooting Star, a guy who was trained by Finlay. He said that they discussed the match, and the conversation went like this: Dave: "We're gonna go 15 minutes" Star: "Ok." Dave: "and You're going over." Star: "Really?" Dave: "Yeah, we can make a feud out of it." That's it. |

You cant possibly be such a calculating cuban to want to tell Mike Adamle UNO DOS ADIOS, could you? The WEDF would never be the same if you throw someone like The Coach instead of Mike "The Adamle" Adamle onto the ECW show! |

Well then, I'd be out of pocket.
|
Yeah Carl, perhaps you should stick to the 'Blast from the Past' threads. :p
