most enduring wrestling image?

what is that one image that stuck with you through the years? yes Foley's dive is there and Eddie g & Benoit at wrestlemania but the image that staid with me the most is of Shawn Michaels walking down that lonely white tunnel to face Sid at 'mania. Ill never forget that.

whats yours?

Loose Cannon 04-30-2008 02:40 PM

the end of the Canadian Stampede PPV.

Renaissance man 04-30-2008 02:40 PM

what happened?

Loose Cannon 04-30-2008 02:49 PM

The Main Event was The Hart Foundation (Bret, Owen, Davey, Pillman and Anvil) vs Austin, LOD, Shamrock and Goldust. Owen gets injured early in the match and goes to the back, but comes back and rolls up Austin for the pin.

Now keep in mind the event was in Canada during the whole Hart Foundation vs USA war, thus making the Harts babyfaces. Pretty much the entire Hart Family was in attendance. Brothers, Sisters, Stu, Helen, Grandkids etc.... After Owen pinned Austin, there was a huge celebration in the ring, which had the entire family in the ring celebrating. It was so awesome if you were a Hart fan. Also, the Harts took turns kicking Austin while he was in hadncuffs to add to the awesomeness

Rammsteinmad 04-30-2008 02:58 PM

Benoit and Guerrero at 'Mania 20.

Loose Cannon 04-30-2008 03:01 PM

also, if you've ever seen the picture of Owen holding his son Oje, while he's holding a little Canadian Flag...this event is where the picture is from.

Vastardikai 04-30-2008 03:06 PM

Hogan slamming Andre.

SammyG 04-30-2008 03:10 PM

Na na na na na na na na hey hey hey goodbye to Lesnar

The Optimist 04-30-2008 03:53 PM

Benoit/Eddie is high on the list.

So is Steve Blackman knocking Shane off of the Titantron. It was epic shit. Though that's more a moment than an image. Until I think of something better Benoit/Eddie is my answer.

Kane Knight 04-30-2008 04:40 PM

The Panda bodyslamming the carnies.

Austin bleeding from his forehead and screaming while locked in the Sharpshooter at Wrestlemania 13. I believe it's been referred to as 'Blood From a Stone'.

It got worse than this, but here is a good part of it:

LOL ^ 'seetheheight?' at the end

NoRoolz 04-30-2008 05:52 PM

Also not sure if this really counts as it was an image that was repeated. But Stone Cold standing on the turnbuckles with his waistcoat doing his double middle finger salute sticks out straight away.

Also:
- Foley from the cell.
- Benoit/Eddie WMXX
- Rock and Hogan looking into the crowd at WMX8
- Undertakers title win over Sid, the picture where he is doing his trademark tongue thing.
- Vince with the 'BANG! 3:16' gun next to his head.
- Hogan slamming Andre.

NoRoolz 04-30-2008 05:59 PM

Oh, and...

Those are the 2 that always come to mind. Never really understood the Benoit/Guerrero one. I mean, sure it was cool that those 2 had the belts at the same time after all the hard work blah blah but I see it as more a smart mark thing, not wrestling as a whole.

When HBK won the 1995 Royal Rumble and is celebrating in the ring with Pamela Anderson.

And for the wrong reasons, Sid's leg break.

<img src=http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g122/sandman3g/Wrestling/bretowned.jpg>

Aside from that, Steve Austin passing out in the sharp shooter, the New Age Outlaws pushing Cactus and Funk off the stage in a dumpster, the ending of the Taker/Yoko casket match when they put The Undertaker on the titantron, the birth of Austin 3:16, Kane's debut, CM Punk cutting a promo on Raven in ROH about how he HATES Raven(if anyoen can find this, send it to me please).... and oh, man, thinking about all the good stuff that stays with me makes me happy.

FourFifty 04-30-2008 06:45 PM

OH! And Pillman pulling a gun on Austin. Fucking AWESOME!

Anybody Thrilla 04-30-2008 06:53 PM

I also think of Austin being dragged away in handcuffs up the ramp.

NoRoolz 04-30-2008 06:53 PM

Yeah quite a few there I'd missed out.

Also, Jeff Hardy swantom bomb in the TLC match at SummerSlam 2000.

Tommy Dreamer doing Raven's pose for the first time.

Scott Hall and Nash dropping titles in the bin on Nitro.

And I'm not sure why but if I think of the original DX, the image I get is off HBK/HHH looking at each other that time when they had them helmets on with windscreen wipers  a strong image for me :o.

NoRoolz 04-30-2008 06:56 PM

Oh, and the image of Vince's face whilst he was like trying to grab the ring canvas when Austin brought out the beer-truck.

This thread = makes me happy.

NoRoolz 04-30-2008 06:56 PM

So many Austin ones.

Cement in Vince's chevrolet.

<font color=white>Def. That shot pretty much defines the Attitude era. I watched the RAW 15th Anniversary DVD the other day and the whole segment is on there which I haven't seen for ages. Real must see TV back then.</color>

Another moment, would be when Raven ran in, to help Tommy Dreamer beat the Dudleys, i was so...what the fuck...the look on Dreamer face while Raven holds out his belt.

Anybody Thrilla 04-30-2008 07:23 PM

Oh my fucking shit. That guy should be nowhere near a wrestling ring

thedamndest 04-30-2008 07:30 PM

Two good ones from Wrestlemania X: Razor holding both belts atop the ladder and then Bret celebrating with all the faces in the ring.

Fabien Barthez 04-30-2008 07:35 PM

Erm. I've got to be honest. The most synonimous image of pro wrestling I have is The Ultimate Warriors entrance. The music, and him legging it down, smashing against the apron, then standing and shaking the ropes.

Powerful shit, when your 8 years old. :-\

The most enduring moments to me (meaning reasons why I'm a wrestling fan and moments I enjoyed) are...

Pillman being carried out of of War Games in 1991 by El Gigante.

Chris Jericho holding up both World Championships in his entrance pose the Raw after Vengence 2001.

Tommy Dreamer with Raven in the DDT position right before he hit him with it and finally beat Raven.

The ECW chanting around any brawl throughout the ECW Arena.

Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon seated side by side at the announce desk.

Jeff Hardy hanging from the title belt loop and being speared all the way down.

Pillman and Austin side by side doing their "filming" taunt.

Damn it Fox. I was going to mention the Spear to Hardy while he was hanging from the belt.

Also, DX leading the tank out to the Turner building and possibly Austin being tied to Undertaker's giant psuedocross during the Ministry angle.

At the end of it did that guy say "Oh god I think he's shitting shit."

CJ 05-01-2008 02:10 PM

Michaels' WM12 entrance, when Jose Lathario came down, pointed to the rafters and heme down on that zip line, as a 12 yr old that was awesome.
