http://www.moviesonline.ca/movie-gal...an_comicon.jpg

IT'S GONNA BE GREAT!!!

ok I'm not going to see it today because:

a) I never see movies on opening day
2) I only see movies on Tightarse Tuesday

HeartBreakMan2k 04-30-2008 09:37 PM

Except today isn't the second

Downunder 04-30-2008 10:00 PM

Yeah I know, it's the first.

That movie poster is wrong.

HeartBreakMan2k 04-30-2008 11:34 PM

Yeah, I think i may be going to the midnight opening :o

Innovator 04-30-2008 11:37 PM

I'm pretty pumped, I won't lie

mitchables 05-01-2008 02:38 AM

Just got back. I enjoyed it, as far as superhero movies go. It could've been a Fantastic Four, but it was more an X-Men 2. Robert Downey Jr. was surprisingly good as Tony Stark. Origin story was pulled off pretty nicely, effects were solid, and it was well if not brilliantly written.

Only major gripe (sorta spoiler): S.H.I.E.L.D but no Nick Fury. Booo urns.

U-Warrior 05-01-2008 03:00 AM

Oh shit, a thursday opening? Thought it was friday.

The Destroyer 05-01-2008 03:41 AM

Not sure how much truth there is in it, but apparently there might be something after the end credits to stick around and see...

D Mac 05-01-2008 06:04 AM

I'd rather play Grand Theft Auto 4

The Mackem 05-01-2008 06:38 AM

I'm interested to see how Robert Downey Jr does.

Spoiler: Did you stay until the end of the credits? There's something there that'll make ya happy guaranteed

mitchables 05-01-2008 07:12 AM

No I didn't.

The Mackem 05-01-2008 07:13 AM

poor Mitch :(

mitchables 05-01-2008 07:14 AM

Yeah, I will see it again anyways. No big deal. Read what it was, I'm pissed I missed that. I wanted to stay till after the credits but the people I was with were impatient bastards

The Mackem 05-01-2008 07:21 AM

You should never go along with the crowd...make a stand next time...sitting down.

He is the man, I can't believe anyone would doubt him.

RP 05-01-2008 04:35 PM

"At the end of the credits, Stark comes home and finds Nick Fury in his living room -staring towards the window. He then turns to tell Stark he's the not the only superhero in the world. Stark asks who he is, and Fury turns and says he's "Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I'm here to talk to you about The Avengers Initiative".

dont read that if you dont like to be spoiled.

The Destroyer 05-01-2008 06:51 PM

Yeah, way to put the spoiler warning at the END of the post.

Shaggy 05-02-2008 12:44 AM

just went and saw it....

I was planning on seeing it early tomorrow morning but found out there was a showing in like 25 minutes so I drove my ass as fast as I could to the movie theater...

Pretty awesome movie.....there was a part or two in there that I really didnt care for...I loved the final line in the movie...it made me laugh

U-Warrior 05-02-2008 01:35 AM

Loved it.

I think I like it even more than Batman Begins, which was my favorite comic movie til now. Bit of an Iron Man mark tho.

U-Warrior 05-02-2008 02:07 AM

Oh and during the beginning, I didn't think Jeff Bridges could pull off being the villain. I thought thats the only thing I wouldn't like about this movie. He's too warm and fuzzy. He's the dude.

He sure fooled me.

Jura 05-02-2008 09:58 AM

Iron Mang

Reavant 05-03-2008 03:24 AM

This is the best marvel movie ever and im completely serious about this. xmen and spiderman were good but this one takes the cake. The only reason people will disagree is because ironman isnt that big of a character and that the others were done first so they have that nastalgia, but i loved every part of this movie. also if ur a big comic book fan then i guess u should stay for the end of the credits, but theyre real fucking long so if u dont care then pass.

Indifferent Clox 05-03-2008 03:54 AM

That was amazing. Last line was great.

His pick up lines were also top notch.

Indifferent Clox 05-03-2008 03:58 AM

also paltrow was hot.

Rammsteinmad 05-03-2008 04:06 AM

Holy shit! So an Avengers movie is definitely on then?!?! :D:D:D

U-Warrior 05-03-2008 04:09 AM

It's all but confirmed. Gonna be a while tho, as they want to make a Captain America movie and a Thor movie, THEN make the Avengers film using each film's respective lead actors.

Boondock Saint 05-03-2008 06:30 AM

Loved it. Awesome movie.

Heros Welcome 05-03-2008 04:09 PM

Saw it last night, and thought it was extremely good. I would see it again for sure.

Kane Knight 05-03-2008 09:07 PM

I'm surprised Nunder is hyped for this. Looks like the type of movie he'd normally dismiss as "shite."

Gonzo 05-03-2008 09:38 PM

I want to see this bad.

HeartBreakMan2k 05-03-2008 09:59 PM

Saw it. Honestly be the best comic movie we've had. I think I actually rate it over Batman Begins.

Boomer 05-03-2008 10:13 PM

I would give Batman Begins an edge on it, but I'm in complete agreement that it was awesome.

The Destroyer 05-04-2008 10:26 AM

Now that, I liked.

Loved the little War Machine tease as well - not to mention the fairly subtle hints towards the Mandarin. Get the feeling we might be seeing more of The Ten Rings in any sequels.

Rammsteinmad 05-04-2008 03:57 PM

Wow, on IMDB.com Iron Man is joint 1st highest rated Comic Book movie.

It currently has an 8.4 rating along with Sin City. Batman Begins has an 8.3.

Rammsteinmad 05-04-2008 03:59 PM

I read that Terrance Howard (Jim Rhode) has said there will be a sequel with War Machine. If this is true, then they could have Mandarin be the bad guy, and have him be too much for Stak to take on alone. So have Rhodes build the War Machine armour to help.

Then for an Avengers movie, they could have Iron Man, War Machine, Thor, Captain America (after they have movies made), Hulk, and possibly Wasp and Black Widow to throw some females in there.

Just a thought.

Reavant 05-04-2008 05:20 PM

dont forget nick furry... they dont need a movie for widow and wasp tho.... they could just have unknown actors play them

Confused 05-05-2008 07:43 AM

Saw it the other night and really enjoyed it.

Robert Downey Jr was superb. Perfect fit for Tony Stark!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. No point waiting for every member to get their individual movies or else we'll be waiting forever. Some characters should be unique just for this film.

ct2k 05-05-2008 07:10 PM

Awesome
