really hard decision

should I trade in gta 4 and get some other xbox 360 games?

Here's the deal... my multiplayer on this game doesn't really work that well, like I always get logged out before joining games, this doesn't happen in other games. I really wanna play mass effect and a few other games.

I'm basically only keeping it because of the dlc/expansion packs.
I'm gonna go try the online thing one more time.
So should I do it?

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 07:47 PM

I already beat the game btw

G 05-09-2008 07:50 PM

And you plan on buying 3 new games by trading this in how?

Cooler Tom Schuler 05-09-2008 07:52 PM

People buy GTA4 for $180 used.

G 05-09-2008 07:54 PM

Or Clox is just an idiot?

new to me

Kane Knight 05-09-2008 08:49 PM

Good luck getting three games used for the price you'd get off GTA.

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 08:54 PM

I can sell it for 40 used and rent two games and buy one.

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 08:54 PM

anyway should I sell it or not

U-Warrior 05-09-2008 08:57 PM

If playing by yourself bores you then yes.

I would check the manual to see if rockstar has any type of tech support number first tho.

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 09:07 PM

The question is really whether the expansion packs will be worth it.

LOL. Jesus. Just admit you were wrong.

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 09:10 PM

I admit the way my statement was phrased was wrong.

Kane Knight 05-09-2008 09:10 PM

But yeah. Try and fix the problem, maybe?

Considering that Microsoft paid 50 million for it, I doubt it will be horse armor.

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 09:15 PM

Haha...

True. Though man on oblivion I've already gone through two motherfucking free horses. I've done the assassins and theives guild quests.

I hav over 100000 gold
I am in the middle of the main quest

And i love it, tottally getting the expansion packs for this game.

U-Warrior 05-09-2008 09:23 PM

I'm not an experienced hardcore rpg fan. I've only played simpler stuff like Final Fantasy.

Fallout and 5% of baldur's gate is about the extent of my experience in the hardcore pc rpg crowd. Got Oblivion for PC for 5 bucks off a friend, but still havn't done anything more than escape the dungeon, and get killed by theives outside the city.

Indifferent Clox 05-09-2008 11:37 PM

It's so amazing man. I haven't played fallout but I really should.

Baldur's gate was allright but I didn't really dig it.

I liked neverwinter Night's much much more.

I love chrono trigger

Give it a week or 2 and online will be fine, PS3's online was more fucked than 360's till a few days ago, now its fine apparently.
Let them sort everything out and it'll run smooth.

KingofOldSchool 05-10-2008 06:17 AM

Trade it on Goozex...you would get more there than going to Rapestop.

Indifferent Clox 05-10-2008 06:52 AM

I beat oblivion's assassin's theives and main quest as well this week. damn.

Indifferent Clox 05-10-2008 06:59 AM

Ok I signed up to Goozex.... I'm not sure if I want to put oblivion and GTA4 up yet or not though....

It sounds omre like user error in this case.

Well GTAIV will not be a problem getting matched as there are probably shit load of people wanting the copy and probably no one having it available, you'd be matched up instantly if you put it up. Not to mention it will be at 1000 points for a good long time so there is not a rush to put it up. Whereas Gamestop will drop the trade in value to $20-30 in a couple of months, it will still go for full price on Goozex.

Oblivion might be a different story, what version do you have? GOTY or the standard?

Indifferent Clox 05-10-2008 11:56 AM

it's the t rated version way old.

Yeah it will probably take you a while to get rid of it, you can always put it up and if you get matched, you can deny the trade.

Xero 05-10-2008 01:50 PM

Don't know if you'd want to go through it, but I had the exact same problem. It had to do with my router not opening the NAT properly.

Check this for a general explanation:

http://live.tommccann.net/

Note that i had to upgrade my router's firmware for it to take effect (and almost bricked it by using the wrong version's firmware :$).

#BROKEN Hasney 05-10-2008 05:11 PM

GTA4s DLC will make it worth hanging on to on 360.....

It's my NAT that messes it up. And it doesn't cover that. My connection control is on my dad's computer and who knows when he'll actually let me on that.

Indifferent Clox 05-13-2008 03:59 AM

no seriously....

Indifferent Clox 05-13-2008 12:16 PM

xero limit!!!!????....

Indifferent Clox 05-13-2008 05:02 PM

gonna bump this till I get some help.

shut up already

Xero 05-13-2008 06:31 PM

It involves going into your router settings and opening ports, and possibly upgrading the firmware. Also setting a static IP for the XBox.

What router make/version do you have?

Indifferent Clox 05-13-2008 06:38 PM

It's a motorola and netgear
but the thing is I use a wire to plug into my xbox all the stuff connects but it says my NAT is strict...

Xero 05-13-2008 06:56 PM

I assume the router is Netgear. If I'm wrong, this won't apply.

It has nothing to do with the physical wiring, some games need completely open NAT connections otherwise you can have trouble connecting to some people.

I haven't dealt with a Netgear router, but from what I gather the absolute easiest way to set this up is:

Login to the router, which should be http://192.168.0.1. You will probably need a password.

Go to the Advanced menu, choose Ports and in Default DMZ server, input the 360's IP address (can be found in network settings on the 360). If it says DHCP (I forget how it works), go to the first page I linked and setup the XBox with a static IP.

Another way is opening the following ports on the 360 through the router:

UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074

I don't know how it's setup, though, so I really can't help with that.

The first way SHOULD work. If it doesn't you likely have to upgrade your firmware.

Indifferent Clox 05-13-2008 07:01 PM

Thank you so much. I'd rep the hell out of you, but we all know my rep means shit.
