Kurt Angle reinjured.

Credit: www.pwtorch.com

Kurt Angle will not appear at tomorrow night's Smackdown tapings or on any future shows until further notice.

He will be undergoing tests on his neck and back this week, after experiencing tingling in his fingers, either due to last night's WrestleMania match, or a culmination of work over the past few weeks

Shit.

Well I geuss no one will be visiting that doctor that Angle used?

Corkscrewed 03-16-2004 04:36 AM

Sonofa... I hope it's nothing. Really, I do, because SD! guys are dropping like flies. Guess it's a good thing they made that announcement on RAW. In fact, that might even be WHY they made it...

I left out the part about the annoucement cause I didn't wanna spoil anything, but the announcement had nothing to do with Angle's injury, as the decision was made already before Angle called in.

Corkscrewed 03-16-2004 04:43 AM

Well, I was referring to the whole Smackdown! getting unbalanced in terms of number of main eventers in general, but that's interesting to hear.

Boondock Saint 03-16-2004 04:49 AM

Ughh nooo. Get well soon.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-16-2004 10:24 AM

It was going to happen, maybe he should call it quits.

Rock Bottom 03-16-2004 11:26 AM

Man, Angle is like one of the greatest wrestlers ever, it really sucks to see him bogged down by injuries and pain... Get well Kurt. I wanna see him return. But only if he isn't going to further his injuries or possibly even worse.

Mr. JL 03-16-2004 03:02 PM

I simply love watching Kurt Angle in the ring. He is one of the greatest wrestlers today and could possibly be the best. With that said... I think he should retire. He's broken his neck THREE times!

Once before the olympics which we always hear about. Then he broke his neck twice last year. And now they're worried he broke his neck again or something else is wrong.

He must retire, otherwise he's going to end up in a wheel chair before he's 50. Look at the Dynamite Kid. He had some major back problems and he didn't retire until it was too late. Now he's in a wheel chair for the rest of his life.

Ricky 03-16-2004 03:11 PM

Shame because he is a decent wrestler, although I wouldn't really miss him if he left.

No the way he is going he will not make it to 35. I'm sorry to say but for the sake of his family and his own personal well being, he needs to retire.

It's always funny seeing people pretend they are doctors. There could be any number of reasons he's feeling numbness and tingling in his fingers (most likely it is his neck though) but you have no idea what shape he's in. Don't say morbid stuff like him being in a wheel chair for the rest of his life or him dying. Dynimite Kid wrestled in a day where there was very little anyone knew about the spinal chord and the neck, and the injuries there in. Kurt has a whole hell of a lot more people looking after him then the Dynimite Kid did. This isn't today mistakes won't happen like what happened with Droz of what happened with Steve Austin that almost left him paralyzed. I just don't think anyone knows what the real dignosis on Kurt's neck is. Until we find out what it is then judge whether he should retire or not. Plus Kurts is an informed man if he see that he could become paralyzed from wrestling he'll retire. But until he makes that desision, don't pretend you know anything about him or his injury, cause most of you (if not all) don't.

I wasnt being a doctor, I was just simply stating that if he is risking too much by entertaining us, then he needs to walk away. I was not being a doctor, I was stating a simple and very true fact.

I wonder who Goldberg is going to feud with now?

I thought Eddie and Kurt were going to continue their feud, actually. Goldberg's not coming back.

Boondock Saint 03-16-2004 06:18 PM

I don't know much about Dynamite Kid but I know in his day he was quite good. But he is paralyzed now or just so badly injured he can't really walk?

And, if Kurt does retire, he'd make a cool Commish or something I think.

MVP 03-16-2004 06:42 PM

Meh, I heard rumors about a Goldberg/Angle feud AND Eddie/Angle feud.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

Kane Knight 03-16-2004 06:47 PM

Well, this certainly sucks, but itsn't all that surprising.

Angle's neck has been pretty shitty for quite some time. I salute him for continuuing to wrestle as long has he have, but perhaps his brains should outdo his balls for once here.

The problem is, a ton of wrestlers are going bye-bye. Some better than others, and some will be more missed...

The CyNick 03-16-2004 08:00 PM

It doesn't take a doctor to figure out that a guy who has had a series of NECK OPERATIONS and is now feeling numbness (which was a previous indicator of further problem with his neck) is increasing his chances of doing permanent damage. Angle takes more bumps per match than Dynamite did in most of his matches (Although Dynamite had a tougher schedule), so the comparsion and concern is fair.

I dont know what this latest setback means, but when you compile all the evidence its hard to ignore the facts, and I think we are getting closer and closer to the end for Kurt. As a fan I just want to see him be as healthy as possible. I'd love to see him work for 10 more years, but I'm happy to have seen him work for 5, and if he can get out and still walk, I'm all for that.

I'd like to see him walk away while he still can. I'd rather he leave early on a high note than have him leave too late and be crippled or worse.
This is some serious shit here, not a minor injury he can walk off...

rottednation 03-17-2004 05:43 AM

Angle is the greatest thing to happen to wrestling since the AMERICAN DREAM!! Just kidding... ...Kurt Angle truly is a great piece of work. He has worked his way very well, and to come back from injuries, to only injure himself again... ...it sucks. I hope and pray that he gets well soon.
