Have I missed something?

Batista isn't booked for Judgement Day? What's going on?

thedamndest 05-17-2008 02:03 PM

I wouldn't say you've been missing it, Bob /Office Space

Nah, he's gonna interfere in the HBK/Jericho match or something with that. Why they couldn't put him on the card somewhere I don't know. He spent a month doing nothing after his match with HBK.

I'm so happy I'm ordering it.

Jura 05-17-2008 02:53 PM

Someone, somewhere is gonna get Batista Bombed tonight!

Porcupine 05-17-2008 03:38 PM

Blatantly obviously that Craptista is gonna interfere into HBK/Jericho. Probably costing HBK the match.

Theo Dious 05-17-2008 10:03 PM

I like this. As much as I don't care for Batista, I like the return to the old days where a guy doesn't have to be on the card to be involved in the angle.

Kane Knight 05-17-2008 10:08 PM

Batista's got it in his contract that he misses two PPV title matches a year. No more, no less.

The Optimist 05-17-2008 10:18 PM

I'm a bit unhappy with the card to be honest. There was only six matches last time I checked and only the main event titles are on the line. This is an example of why interpromotional pay per views should be less prevalent.

Kane Knight 05-17-2008 10:22 PM

Is Bats still on Smackdown? I mean, is he just feuding with Michaels, or is he on Raw now?

Once House is over, I'll probably at least try and watch some Raw, but....

Afterlife 05-18-2008 08:27 AM

Without attempting to insult you as a person, I find it strange that anyone can find House as entertaining -- or moreso -- than WWE.

Kane Knight 05-18-2008 10:23 AM

House generally draws double or better the ratings than WWE does, so I'm not sure what's strange about it. In fact, WWE's been school by reruns of House on USA before.

Although, it's incredibly strange that I like something popular.

Team Sheep 05-18-2008 11:18 AM

This PPV does seem pretty lackluster and half assed. Seems like there's no hype heading into it, and there's only 6 matces announced. This is just down to too many PPV's these days. We had decent build heading into Backlash because they were given a good 5 or so weeks to work with coming off of Wrestlemania. Now just 3 weeks later we have Judgment Day, which I'm sure hardly anyone knows that it's tonight, and then in just 2 weeks it's One Night Stand! Ridiculous.

Sorry, I'm too excited about another One Night Stand!

GD 05-18-2008 11:25 AM

Well it is pretty obvious that Dancing Dave is gonna either interfere or do color commentary.

WWE One Night Stand ;)

Rammsteinmad 05-18-2008 12:00 PM

WWE's Fourth Night Stand?

Because House is fucking awesome.

Reruns of RAW from 1998 > New House > Reruns of House > New WWE

BigDaddyCool 05-18-2008 06:21 PM

House is ok. Metalocalypse is where it is at.

Tommy Gunn 05-18-2008 06:23 PM

Batista isn't on the card because neither Edge or Undertaker are injured.

EDIT-

I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed about this card, just seems like a bunch of TV matches or repeats of matches we've already seen recently. I think I'll just torrent it in the morning and skip through.

Mr. Nerfect 05-19-2008 05:22 AM

Batista's absence from the PPV was pretty puzzling, but I think we'll see Chris Jericho call out Batista on not being good for his word, and we'll see a three-way feud develop between the three, probably in time for Night of Champions, where they have a Triple Threat Match for the IC Title (I think we'll be seeing lots of main eventers in title matches to get big stars on the card alongside the championships).

Afterlife 05-19-2008 12:58 PM

House is one of the cheesiest things ever produced for national television.

That is all.

DaVe 05-19-2008 01:17 PM

Reruns of RAW from 1998 > New House > Reruns of House > New WWE

Yeah, if the WWE is ever worried about ratings, or USA for that matter, then all they need to do is rerun some old RAWs. It also would save them a lot of money.

Not that I agree with you about House, but professional wrestling tops that list.

You know, recently I'd been doubting my love for wrestling, and today I watched one of the MSG classics I recorded and I watched the entire thing, only skipping a standard Undertaker promo and Taker's entrance.

So I know it's not me but the current product. If WWE ran RAW against MSG Classics I'd watch MSG Classics over RAW...

Bread + Ham + House + Bread = Ham and cheese sandwich.

All you need is bread+Santino, though.

Alss I'm saying is, "Let he who is not knee-deep in bad acting and homoerotica cast the first stone."

Kane Knight 05-19-2008 06:05 PM

And I think they could probably get ratings from a recast of old Raws. Even a sort of best of to hype WWE 24/7.

I've done the same thing quite a few times, I have watched wrestling in stages the last 5 years or so, like watching religiously for 10 months, then part-time for 2 months, then not at all for 5 months and so on.

And I sometimes doubt my passion for wrestling, but then I watch old videos and stuff and the mark-out feeling I get watching it just takes them doubts away. Usually I get this with older videos, but there are recent-ish PPV's I watch and get the same mark-feeling, so I know it's not just nostalgia. I think it really is just that today's product is so bland.

The Optimist 05-19-2008 07:45 PM

Lol. Santino equals ham, cheese, and the bottom bun.

The Optimist 05-19-2008 07:46 PM

For the record, I enjoy House. I think I repped Kane Knight for it once.

I'm a good actor.

*throws a rock at Santino*

Besides, I think Hugh Laurie is great. I just think his current show is as original as curdled milk.

Kane Knight 05-19-2008 09:15 PM

A show clearly based on Sherlock Holmes is unlikely to be very original.

The Optimist 05-19-2008 09:30 PM

That's part of it's genius, really. It's intelligent and witty enough to attract more critical tastes, but it's formulaic and simple enough bring in the midwestern crowd.

"It's funny, but will it get them off their tractors?"

Afterlife 05-19-2008 09:35 PM

Actually, I was making another cheese remark.
