Actors you don't like but tend to be in entertaining movies....

Or TV shows, or whatever.

I'm watching Zoom with the ex. This isn't the best superhero flick of late, but it's entertaining. and I enjoy Tim Allen as a washed-up superhero. Thing is, I don't particularly like Allen himself.

Similarly, Jack Black annoys the FUCK out of me, yet I keep watching his movies. Blacks'probably the worse of the two offenders, because he rarely goes outside of his trademark "character," whereas Allen has shown some versatility in his careet. Still, "Kung Fu Panda" looks entertaining, and even if it isn't, I've got four or give Jack Black movies that i watch over and over again. Maybe more "despite" rather than "because of."

Robin Williams somewhat, I guess. But not really. Mrs. Doubtfire is amazing though.

Kane Knight 05-24-2008 05:44 PM

Robin Williams does tend to irritate me, though his movies can be pretty good.

Jura 05-24-2008 05:46 PM

Joe Pantolione or whatever. He played the traitor in the first Matrix.

Requiem 05-24-2008 06:01 PM

I love me some Robin Williams. :'(

U-Warrior 05-24-2008 06:29 PM

Nicholas Cage

Martian Laurence

I don't like Tom Cruise as an actor (always too predictable), but a lot of his movies are awesome.

OssMan 05-25-2008 12:09 AM

Mark Wahlberg, love Boogie Nights though

El Fangel 05-25-2008 12:14 AM

Tom Cruise

Savio 05-25-2008 03:07 PM

I think Tom Cruise was good in MI:iii

Gertner 05-26-2008 12:03 AM

I HATE Tom Cruise the person, but his movies kick ass.

It wasn't too hard of a role to get down since he's half way there. He just needs to be a superhero now.

KK is obviously in denial about his massive man crush on Jack Black. It might perhaps be even bigger than his one on me.

I'd have to agree with Tom Cruise and, to a degree, Mark Wahlberg. It's not so much that I dislike Wahlberg as I don't like him based on his abilities as much I should.

Jeritron 05-26-2008 03:48 AM

Tom Cruise. He's, from what we see and basically know, a fucking psycopath and hence intolerable as a person.

However, his movies are amazing.

I actually think Tom Cruise has the best good/bad ratio of any actor in hollywood who has made more than a handful of movies.

Seriously, 90% or higher of his movies are amazing

mitch_h 05-27-2008 01:27 AM

Yeah Tom Cruise is a good pick. With the exception of MI2 every movie he made from 1999 - 2004 was amazing.

Triple A 05-27-2008 02:20 AM

Yeah Cruise is amazing.

Savio 05-27-2008 10:22 PM

War of the worlds sucks

Boomer 05-28-2008 11:52 AM

Not a big Will Smith fan...but MIB was definitely entertaining. Haven't seen almost all of his new movies...but I've heard (mostly) good things.

BigDaddyCool 05-28-2008 02:38 PM

If an actor i don't like has anything more than a bit part in a movie, I will probably not watch the movie. That being said, I have not seen any movies with Robin Williams, Al Pacino, or Tom Cruise in a long time. Those are the only 3 actors I hate with a burning passion.

Also, that being said, I watch Godfather and a handful of older Tom Cruise movies inspite of them being in it.

BigDaddyCool 05-28-2008 02:41 PM

Then again, when was the last time any of those 3 were in a movie where they didn't have the lead role or doing the voice of at least 3 characters (in Williams's case)? Those 3 seem to love jerking themselves off (metahporically) and making us watch.

BigDaddyCool 05-28-2008 02:42 PM

Also, BDC will not watch anything with Robert Redford in it nor that Ed whatever his name is Jr. Neo-Hippy scum.

Nowhere Man 05-28-2008 04:59 PM

I'm not a fan of Johnny Depp, but he's in some pretty damn entertaining movies.

I'm kind of the opposite, I love Robin Williams but can't stand his movies.

BigDaddyCool 05-28-2008 05:39 PM

Ben Stiller fits this prefectly. As long as he is a minor role like Dodge Ball, Royal Tenebaums, or something like that, I don't mind. But if he is the lead role, I'm not going to see it.

Mike Meyer's is another guy getting to be like that. But I can't remember when he wasn't the lead role and 2 other characters.

Adam Sandler on the other hand, still like him. Not trilled about this Zohan movie, but I don't hate him yet.

Oh, and Will Ferrel. All his movies are the same.
