Is there interest in "Better Musician" threads?
 

For those of you that don't visit the wrestling forum, these threads are a poll between two bands/musicians where you have a reigning champ taking on challengers. After five successful defenses, the champ is retired into the "Hall of Fame" and is hailed as universally awesome by TPWW. I have suggested to Destor that we do these in the music forum, but I guess before that happens I should gauge the interest level first.

Would you be interested in doing something like this for music? Also, what kind of rules should there be? Like should competitors stay within the same genre or should there not really be any type of limits? LET ME KNOW. Also, if this has been tried before and failed I apologize for waking sleeping dogs or disturbing somebody's closeted skeletons. I would volunteer to run the threads and would be open to suggestion as to bands to pick. LET ME KNOW, TEEPS (short for tpww people).

This is the latest "Better Wrestler" thread going on. As you can see, it is in no way like the Rate the Musician threads that angered lots of people because the voting is limited so there isn't overzealous bumping.

Well, RTM failed twice (Once because FA's a tard, and once because of lack of interest), but it might work anyway.

I'm gonna try and re-brand it as not RTM.

I'd take part in it, but I doubt it'll work. The problem is that there are way too many genres and there's always gonna be someone who doesn't know who the bands are.

But if you wanna do it, go for it. :y:

I think there has been enough RTM or whatever for the time being.

As you can see, I had forgotten all about the RTM threads until kind of an after thought in my follow-up post, but hoped by including a link to the successful "Better Wrestler" thread (with a picture of Dean Malenko!) interest would catch like herpes. I was wrong, and I apologize and may God have mercy on all of our souls.

YOu should go for it. Search in the wrestling forum for evaluate the wrestler (ETW.) It failed, but I still tried it. something fun to pass the time. Hell, Guess who the comic book charector thread is like the 5th most posted in thread of ever. You never know what will catch on I guess. DONT BE A PANZY
