Why is WWE paying for these two?

I remember reading that the WWE is paying for both Scott Hall and Sean "X-Pac" Waltman's rehab bills, why is that? Isnt Waltman contracted under AAA and wasnt Scott Halls last no show at a TNA event or was it at a WWC event? Is it that no one wanted to pay for it and WWE feels bad for there two former wrestlers? Any help on this would be appreciated.

they are friends with HHH and HBK.

Actually it has nothing to do with Kliq. A few months ago WWE said that if any current or former WWE star wanted to get help, they'd pick up the bill. They don't want any more Benoit incidents laid at their door.

Ron Simmons took them up on the offer, and possibly Jake the Snake as well.

Because it's good for the company?

Seriously, it's a really great thing that anyone who needs it WWE will pay for it, but it never would have happened without the scandals lately.

The Cost of Rehab is worth the good press.

Not to mention the possible write off on their taxes.

Yeah, a headline reading "This guy goes into rehab and WWE is paying for it" is the closest thing you can get to a headline that says "former WWE wrestler NOT dead from drugs."

Its a great idea by WWE, not only does it look good on them, but its also helping wrestlers that wrestled under them at one point. TBH if u put the good press aside, its good to see the WWE actually doing something to try and look after wrestlers instead of just disgarding them after.

I'm sure Paul "The Job Guy From WWE" Roma and Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz are saying "Yea, I was a WWE superstar" to get in for free.

I think the WWE said they would help waltman before Benoit died.

Well considering, the last one still works for WWE, I don't see him having to try too hard.

Yeah but I think Waltman was a personal intervention by HHH wasnt it?

Kane Knight 06-01-2008 08:59 PM

Waltman does predate WWE's policy and Benoit's death, so you can't really say it's not Kliq related.

Hall took them up post, I believe, and three or four other ex WWE/F/whatever wrestlers did as well. And yeah, this is PR.

The thing is, it's not really positive PR, because almost nobody really cares. What it is, is damage control. They can say "see, we give a shit about the damage we've done." This works if someone dies later, as well.
