Chopin's Nocturnes.

The dreaminess of the music is somehow uplifting, or it can make you even more depressed.

I suggest the 3 nocturnes from Opus 9, and Nocturne in C# minor (1830).

I always listen to The Smiths when I feel like shit. Sometimes Bright Eyes or Rilo Kiley also. But now I can't listen to The Smiths at all when I am not feeling completely shitty or else it just brings me down.

Now 14, Now 18, Now 8.

Always drag out the Execution of All Things if I've had a shitty day, plus I'll give a listen to Bitter Tea by The Fiery Furnaces, as the sheer insanity of the album always puts a smile on my face.

This album was a clear reflection on Layne Staleys state of mind i think. One of my top 5 favorite albums of all time.
