There is no kind, soft lead into this story, so I’m just going to say it: 200 people walked out of a free screening of Uwe Boll’s Postal, because the opening scenes of the film, which depict terrorists deciding to turn their planes towards the Bahamas rather than crash them into the World Trade Center, only to crash them into the World Trade Center after passengers storm the cockpit.
Let me reiterate so this doesn’t slip past anybody: Two hundred people… walked out of a free showing of Uwe Boll’s Postal… in the first ten minutes.
Wow.
According to The Jersey Journal, one of those people who walked out of the film was Mat Levy, who you all may remember as “Cheezy” on VH1’s “I Love New York”. “Cheezy” had this to say about the movie:
It’s too soon to mock a plane going into the World Trade Center. Do you not think there are families out there that had their loved ones killed on 9/11? It really upsets me that he couldn’t care less.
Boll defended the film, saying that while he didn’t want to hurt anybody, he wanted Postal to break the rules, and bring into question what exactly is “taboo”.
All the same, two hundred people, give or take a handful… wow… however sad that this story may sound, it begs the question: Which is more pathetic? The fact that the film itself was already available for free showings, or that the audience still stormed out in droves?


There's also this petition to get Uwe Boll to stop making movies. That and Michael Bay hates the fucker with a passion and the two have been rather vocal of their hate for each other.

This news came at a BAD time for the guy. Can't say I feel sorry for him. After fucking with the Bloodrayne franchise bad as bad as he did (and with him thinking he's the second coming of Christ), he deserves it.

See, that's why I think they should've quoted more people in that. There were 200 people in the free screening that walked out. They could've found someone else who's opinion was more respected among the movie world. but then again, ordinary movie goers would be respected in the opinions of their kind.

You know, Jack Benny, the Marx Brothers, and the Three Stooges were all panned for "Mocking the Holocaust" or "Making Light of Hitler" for their respective performances. If this were someone other than Uwe Bolle, I'd tell people to chill out.

Bolle, on the other hand, has never had what we like to call "taste."

Sounds like they were offended.

Which, I think, would be the reaction no matter who did it. Tasteful or otherwise, people would get horribly offended. Look at how pissy Americans get about dramas dealing with shit in Iraq. Now imagine a comedy scene. Even if done brilliantly, half of America would boycott.
