Better Wrestler #27

In what turned out to be a much closer bout than I would have ever imagined Taz defeated Bam Bam with a respectable lead. But if Taz wins here today he will become the SECOND TPWW Better Wrestler Hall of Fame inductee. Can he do it? He's gonna have to take down one hell of a challenger if he hopes to. So on to todays match:

Blue Demon 06-08-2008 05:30 PM

I like Taz better.

Destor 06-08-2008 05:30 PM

Both of these guys in at their best are TOP NOTCH. You cant ask for better wrestlers. But for me its Taz. At one point in his career I would have easily said he was the best in the world. H for me has always been debateble, with the likes of the Kurt Angles of the world and what not. There aren't many people I would put over a Taz in his prime, and H is not exception.

Destor 06-08-2008 05:41 PM

I figured I'd be getting hate posts for this match up and yet somehow Taz has taken an early lead. CRAZY.

thedamndest 06-08-2008 05:41 PM

If they had pushed Taz properly that feud could have been hot. I'm going with Taz here for whatever reasons I have cited in voting for him in previous rounds, in addition to the fact that he knew when to hang it up and is now a damn good announcer. Can't leave that out.

Yeah, I'm feeling a NYDon draw on this one.

Destor 06-08-2008 05:47 PM

Good call.

Lock Jaw 06-08-2008 05:47 PM

HHH, no contest. The Taz never impressed me in WWE, and I admit to only seeing small bits and pieces of him from ECW, but those didn't impress me either.

Destor 06-08-2008 05:49 PM

The poll doesn't say "Tazz."

CSL 06-08-2008 06:01 PM

Triple H. This isn't remotely close. More quality matches, more important matches, the bigger draw, more championships, more versatile. People won't be talking about Taz in 50 years. The same probably can't be said for Trips

Destor 06-08-2008 06:04 PM

Dunno about thqat more quality matches bit, but the rest I cant argue.

MCEazy 06-08-2008 06:11 PM

Despite Taz's superior wrestling skills, like CSLI said, H has drawn more, can pull off both a heel and face well, more titles and has had more important matches. I like Taz more personally but in the eyes of history HHH holds down taz.

Destor 06-08-2008 06:18 PM

6-6

Ruien 06-08-2008 07:44 PM

HHH did things without chairs, tables, ect. He did it from the bottom, he was a damn good midcarder, and one of the best main eventers in recent history.

Destor 06-08-2008 07:45 PM

Taz did it witrh out Tables and chairs as well. You clearly are only aware of the ECW the WWE has told you about.

El Fangel 06-08-2008 07:47 PM

Taz, because there was a chance he would lose.

Not to mention Triple H's ladder match, Cell matches and his heavy use of the Sledge.

Just because Taz used them in some matches doesn't mean his style was based on it, which it wasn't. Same goes for Triple H. Just because he's had matches with "hardcore" rules, whatever variation it may be, doesn't mean he was based on it.

HeartBreakMan2k 06-08-2008 08:00 PM

You're a cunt for this one btw. I love the Clique, and I love Trips but gotta go with Taz. Not Tazz, or THE Tazz, but Taz was the shit.

Destor 06-08-2008 08:01 PM

:D

Afterlife 06-08-2008 08:09 PM

I will say this: There have been numerous occassinos where H did not bore me in the ring. That is all.

Destor 06-08-2008 08:17 PM

COME ON YOU TAZ SUPPORTERS WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuu?

Xero 06-08-2008 08:18 PM

HeartBreakMan2k 06-08-2008 08:48 PM

Where the fuck is BDC  I must discover if he will continue to support Taz in spite of Destor's asshole-ishness by putting him against a clique member. Though at least it wasn't against HBK :)

Innovator 06-08-2008 09:05 PM

Taz

Juan 06-08-2008 09:31 PM

Hate to do it, but I'm gonna have to go with Triple Haytch.

Kane Knight 06-08-2008 09:41 PM

Triple H is a mediocre wrestler who got where he is due to his connections.

Taz is a phenomenal wrestler who never tanked the promotion he was working for. Heyman did, but that's another story.

HeartBreakMan2k 06-08-2008 09:43 PM

Juan, you go to hell and you die!:mad::mad:

Innovator 06-08-2008 10:00 PM

The phrase doesn't go "beat me if you can, then i'll bury you backstage"

That's cause Trips is still gonna be on the shows in 50 years time.

Heros Welcome 06-08-2008 11:17 PM

I like this matchup very much. Taz in his prime was an absolute beast. Trips was/is a top man and its debatable if he would be as successful as he is if he had not be married to the bosses daughter.

Trips is a great wrestler. I am not that big of a fan of his. In fact I could deal without him. But I will give credit were credit is due.

TAZ like i said earlier was an animal. He could have been considered the best in the world at one point, and to me he is the BETTER man of the 2. Beat him if you can Trips, survive if TPWW lets you!

Vote goes to TAZ

Heros Welcome 06-08-2008 11:20 PM

Also I am shocked to have watched a video with Trips on SD!

Nowhere Man 06-09-2008 12:29 AM

Vote goes to Taz. In terms of performance, I'd say they're about even, but I absolutely despise Trips for his looooong history of behind-the-scenes dickery. Plus, there's the fact that Trips had to be fed victories over just about everyone in the company before anyone gave a shit about him, while Taz managed to stay over for a good while even after WWE went out of their way to job him out.

And would have nothing to do with being one of the most successful workers of all time

What Would Kevin Do? 06-09-2008 01:05 AM

I've never been a huge HHH fan outside of the original incarnation of DX, and the following McMahon/Helmsley era. I don't dislike him... I'm just indifferent. 95% of the time, I fast forward through his promos and matches.

Taz is amazing. Pound for pound, he was one of the best built "threats" in wrestling, and he had an arsenal of moves that were built to be huge.

Taz all the way.

Destor 06-09-2008 01:53 AM

19-15! Holy shit Taz might do this!

Destor 06-09-2008 01:53 AM

So excited right now

Afterlife 06-09-2008 01:56 AM

Wow, Taz sure picked up some votes in the second half. Then again, this poll is more interesting than his wrestling....

Londoner 06-09-2008 01:59 AM

I got to vote for HHH here, i like Taz but don't see him being anywhere near HHH's level.

The One 06-09-2008 02:24 AM

Hunter.

I'm assuming that anyone who voted for Taz was doing so by joke. Don't get me wrong, Taz is a fucking pimp, but Hunter is one of the very best to ever lace a pair of boots. Other than Flair and Michaels, I can't think of anyone better.
