Best "storyline" EVER

What is your favorite storyline moment/ angle.

DrA 06-09-2008 06:12 PM

That one time where Kurt Angle had his brother Eric Angle help him win that match once would have to have been my favorite angle.

Hanso Amore 06-09-2008 06:26 PM

That one time that Clox slit his fucking throat.

NeanderCarl 06-09-2008 06:29 PM

No, he actually took two paracetemols. Close, though.

NeanderCarl 06-09-2008 06:31 PM

And I feel I've answered this question on a biannual basis over the last 8 years, but... the Mr Perfect/ Ric Flair/ Razor Ramon/ Bobby Heenan/ Randy Savage/ Ultimate Warrior angle throughout 1992 that culminated in the Loser Leaves the WWF Perfect vs Flair match in January 1993. If you mean simply one event rathert than a storyline, then the Prime Time Wrestling show where Perfect turned face.

thedamndest 06-09-2008 07:33 PM

Acute, because they're cute.

Mr. Nerfect 06-10-2008 06:05 AM

If you didn't want people to make Kurt Angle/geometrical angle jokes, Clox, you really should have said "storyline."

MCEazy 06-11-2008 07:23 PM

The austin pillman gun angle from 96, that was crazy shit.

Indifferent Clox 06-11-2008 11:35 PM

THREAD RESTART? What's your favorite storyline?

Mercury Bullet 06-12-2008 12:40 AM

That one time DX told everybody to suck it, classic stuff

:shifty:

Okay seriously, probably the original nWo OR The Corporation/Ministry/Corporate Ministry era.

loopydate 06-12-2008 01:52 AM

The New World Order from Hall's first Nitro appearance up until the first Hogan/Sting match.

Sting Fan 06-12-2008 03:51 AM

The hype for the Hogan Sting Starcade 97 Match.

Had me on the edge of my seat begging for more every show.

Lux 06-12-2008 03:59 AM

Clox you can't restart failure, its destined to fail again

I'll give this one more thought later but the first thing that came to mind was Mickie James-Trish Stratus...

Doing what?

Fox 06-12-2008 11:39 PM

Austin vs. McMahon

Fox 06-12-2008 11:40 PM

For a less obvious one,

Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman vs. Eddie Guerrero and the LWO

Whaddya think?

Sorry about the delay on that.

Rammsteinmad 06-15-2008 09:54 AM

Original NWO.

I also liked the New Blood/Millionaires Club thing at the beginning. It kinda fizzled out at the end, but at first I really liked it.

Anybody Thrilla 06-15-2008 11:42 AM

Ric Flair and Randy Savage leading up to Wrestlemania 8, maybe.

Halbowsky 06-15-2008 12:35 PM

The whole Countdown to the Milennium leading up to Chris Jericho's WWF debut

Anybody Thrilla 06-15-2008 12:38 PM

Oh, honorable mention to Chris Jericho/Christian/Trish Stratus leading up to Wrestlemania XX.

Loose Cannon 06-15-2008 01:39 PM

nWo in 96-97 and USA/Canada in 97

James Steele 06-15-2008 02:32 PM

Triple H vs HBK
or
The Corporate Ministry/Higher Power angle (all the swerves and shit were awesome)

Legend Killer 06-17-2008 08:10 PM

The Austin VS Angle Era... The Milk Truck Incident, Kidnapping of Stone Cold and being thrown into a pool, and the sing-alongs. That was the funniest television to date.

Heyman 06-17-2008 08:41 PM

-Build up for The Rock/Austin (Wrestlemania 17). It's what our business is all about.

-Chris Jericho's world title victory over Triple H (the one that didn't happen ;)).

-Austin vs. Undertaker leading up to Summerslam 98' (we didn't know if Kane and Taker were in cahoots). Vince McMahon, Mankind, Kane, and Paul Bearer were also involved in this angle.

I would agree with you if Debra had stayed her cunt ass at home where it belonged.

Theo Dious 06-18-2008 08:34 PM

Sad too, because that buildup was so awesome as to give a pussy-ass Limp Bizkit song some actual meaning to me.

To be honest - That "My Way Or The Highway" song is still one of my favorites at current (probably somewhere in my top 75)....and that's solely because of The Rock/Austin build up from WM-17.

"Someday you'll see things my way" was also quite fitting for the fact that Austin/McMahon joined forces. Although the Austin heel turn was obvious (atleast from my perspective), it was still a shock to see it unfold.

That Texas crowd that night was also unbelievable. As JR pointed out (during the broadcast), it was a VERY partisan crowd (97%+ were cheering Austin). Heck - every time The Rock landed ANY offense the in the first 5 minutes, he got a HUGE chorus of boo's!

To me - that Austin/Rock match from WM-17 rivaled any World Series game 7, in terms of atmosphere.

An absolutely amazing match, and amazing build up. Ironically enough - that Austin/Rock match would mark the END of the Attitude Era....and would mark the beginning of a medicore WWE product (with only occasional snippets of brilliance). :(
