The Tony Jaa one is pretty sweet, but I don't like how he unevenly distributes his action. Like some guys get kicked and get something broken and get thrown off of something, and some guys just get thrown down and somehow don't get back up.
My choice is the entirety of the movie Broken Arrow. |
Raiders of the Lost Ark. From when Indy and Marion get locked in the tomb of snakes..up through the chase scene is the greatest action sequence in movie history.
It starts with a horror/gross out sequence and the action of them escaping, then the flying wing and fist fight with the nazi hoss, then them running from an explosion and into a chase with indy fighting nazis jumping from truck to truck and hanging from the trucks. Amazingly done, great directing and editing. Naturally it's got great sound, effects, stuntwork, music and everything else, and most importantly it serves a purpose. It advances the plot and has to do with them acquiring the ark. |
A lot of people don't appreciate the movie, but the Trex fight in King Kong (2005).

That Matrix scene is bunk. I'd say the motorcycle highway chase is better. The fight you can blatantly tell it's cgi part way through the scene and becomes more clearer as it progresses plus he just flies away at the end.

Yeah its a hidden gem. Was the first Christian Bale movie I've seen and made me a big fan of his. I hope they make a sequel or something to it as I really like the idea and story.
