iTunes won't open

Come on

DS 06-16-2008 11:34 PM

The best way to make iTunes better is to uninstall it.

Downunder 06-17-2008 08:25 AM

DS is 100% correct

Nervous Ferret 06-17-2008 05:54 PM

I've uninstalled and reinstalled like 5 times, still nothing

Vietnamese Crippler 06-17-2008 06:03 PM

He meant uninstall it and leave it uninstalled ;)

Nervous Ferret 06-17-2008 06:17 PM

I caught that from nunder, didn't think DS would be so hurtful :(

It's not like I even use it, or like it really. Just have to get stupid stuff onto said stupid ipod

Vietnamese Crippler 06-17-2008 06:53 PM

There are other programs that will do the job. I use Winamp, but since people seem to hate it so much I'm sure someone else has a good program.

Nervous Ferret 06-17-2008 07:33 PM

Noo I have winAMP as well and would rather use that. But I just need somethign to put 'my' media onto my ipod. Don't you have to use itunes for that?

Vietnamese Crippler 06-17-2008 09:54 PM

What do you mean by "'my' media"? If you mean songs, you can do that with the newer Winamp. I think you can do it with videos too, but I don't know how because I have an older iPod.

DS 06-17-2008 10:30 PM

There are other options to uploading music to your iPod. Try something like vPod.

But, seriously, get rid of iTunes. Horrible. And you should probably get rid of Winamp too. Unless you're loyal to them because they were a better media player than Windows Media Player 5.

PapaGeorgio 06-18-2008 01:29 PM

What is so wrong with iTunes?

DS 06-18-2008 06:26 PM

Speed, speed, and speed. Large memory footprint. Size of the program itself. Bundled Apple applications when you only want to install the program you downloaded. Requires Quicktime (boooo). Loaded UI for simple tasks. iTunes Store. Just to name a few.

There are much smaller, faster, and overall better media players out there that do more than what iTunes does.

PapaGeorgio 06-18-2008 08:22 PM

What are some examples then of what I should use? Like Itunes worked for me so never really looked into other options.

DS 06-18-2008 09:23 PM

Foobar2000 is my favorite Windows player. It's got a plain default UI but it's easily customizable and loads thousands of songs nearly instantly. Plays pretty much every type of audio file out there too. Small and fast. There are plugins that will play files from your iPod but last I had seen, nearly a year ago or so, there wasn't one that allowed you to transfer to it. Probably is now though.

I even prefer Winamp to iTunes and I pretty much hate Winamp.
