i REALLY feel sorry for....

all those people who paid 200 to 500$ for tickets.

plus my friends who payed airfare & hotel in NYC to go see it and 200$ for nosebleed seats.

hope they thought it was worth it 'cause i sure didn't ( at least on PPV viewing) :n:

sadio8 03-17-2004 11:44 PM

I don't feel sorry for them at all. Regardless of how bad the event was or whatever people paid that much just to be apart of the WM experience as well as be apart of history( 20th year for WM) as well as um undertakers return and the fact its at MSG( where it all began)

Paki Crippler 03-17-2004 11:48 PM

So did anyone from the boards went to wmxx??

sadio8 03-17-2004 11:48 PM

yeah ppl from the boards went...

The CyNick 03-17-2004 11:49 PM

I paid for all that stuff (okay my tix were cheaper by planes and hotels and what not) and I thought the show was worth it.

Yeah I could have seen it for free on tape the next day, but the experience being at Mania in the Garden was well worth any money I spent.

Blue Demon 03-17-2004 11:51 PM

I was there...and I thought it was worth it. It was a good show all around.

The only times the crowd seemed alive at all was when they were cheering Goldberg and Lesnar and then when they cheered on Benoit. Other than that they seemed pretty dead.

Exactly this is the biggest wrestling event of the year and just being there wether you thought it was good or not is still worth every memory and experience.

Ever hear the phrase "buy your ticket and take your chances?"

Besides, they saw HHH tap out to the crossface live, so I don't feel sorry for them a damn bit. I'd have paid 200-500 to see that show if I'd had the chance.

In other words, :foc:

If you go to a live event hoping to get as good of a view as you do on TV, unless you're loaded, then you're going to be disappointed. Live events are for the experience.

El Santo 03-18-2004 02:34 AM

There really is nothing like seeing a Wrestlemania live. I wasn't in the best seats in the world at WM19, but I wouldn't trade my crappy seats with the view from my sofa at home. Why? Because there's no way the home experience could ever replicate the thrill of dueling "Y2J" and "HBK" chants. ;)

The horror...

Pfffft, Wrestlemania is Wrestlemania. I went to X8, and had an excellent time, the atmosphere was intense, and enjoyed every minute of the show. Then, when I got back to the UK, I watched it on video, and thought it was a bit, well, crap.
I'm just trying to point out that Wrestlemania live is one hell of an experience.

No one should spend more than $200, it's ridiculous

Then no one should buy Nike's for $150 or Reebok or any name brand, because they are made in the same factory with the same material as the cheap stuff. Ever hear the phrase "different strokes for different folks"? Some people do things or buy things that other people would say, "what are they crazy", but i'm sure the same could be said about you or anyone else. I'm sure everyone here has done or bought something where someone said i would never pay that much for that, but the bottom line is, is that everyone is different and as long as it makes you happy that's all that matters.

Rob 03-18-2004 02:57 PM

I'd rather spend $200 on Mania tickets than buy a pair of Nike's.

Were you there? The TV honest to god does not do justice to how loud and emotional the crowd was.

I paid $100 for my tickets and it was the best money I've ever spent, sure, aside from 2 matches, it wasn't special, but the atmosphere was just amazing, the Lesnar/Goldberg match was surreal, and just fantastic to be a part of, and the pure emotion of the Benoit title win was something I'll never forget.

Let me tell you this about the rest of the show.

The crowd was worn out coming towards the end of the show, because they had watched 5 hours of wrestling, some of which was disappointing for a Mania match. The noise however for Angle/Guerrero and Rock'N'Sock/Evolution was also loud, and the reactions to the moments were loud as well. Cena's entrance, Trish's turn, Molly getting shaved, Kidman's SSP and last and certainly not least, Taker's return. Did you hear the pop for that? The only matches which got little to no reaction were the tags, because they were depressingly poor, the Evening Gown Match, because no one cared, and the Cruiserweight Battle Royal because it didn't get enough time, and everyone did know what the hell was going on.

How you can say the crowd was dead is beyond me, because the crowd was amazing.
