Ted Dibiase

Alright...he didn't get much ring time, but based on Night of Champions...the way he didn't get flustered on the mic, and his arrogance heading down the ring, and in the ring when he hit the Million Dollar Drop...what do you think the future of this third generation superstar is?

The Optimist 06-30-2008 11:23 AM

He's the next John Cena.

Impact! 06-30-2008 11:25 AM

I have high hopes, *but* he will probably get jobbed out

BigDaddyCool 06-30-2008 11:26 AM

He isn't very big...so it depends on Vince really dying.

Xero 06-30-2008 11:28 AM

Honestly, he could be huge and be bigger than his father ever was.

It's all in the hands of creative now. He has all the right stuff to get him over, but so have a lot of guys in the past and creative fucked them up.

Loose Cannon 06-30-2008 11:36 AM

he's going to go the path every other promising youn guy goes down. He'll get over, he'll rise fast, then he'll get his legs cut out from him and he'll just keep trucking along winning matches here and losing matches there. If you want to make a comparison to someone's career, it'll be along the same lines as Orton.

The Optimist 06-30-2008 11:43 AM

Just like Randy Ort--

This is why we can't have nice things.

Evil Vito 06-30-2008 11:54 AM

<font color=goldenrod>I'm thinking we'll see a solid midcard heel stable building with Ted, Cody, Deuce, and a callup by Afa Jr. Let them build up, hold onto the tag belts...maybe even go the route of the Spirit Squad in that any 2 members can defend the belts (DiBiase bribes officials to allow that)

Ultimately we see a blowoff match between the stable and their dads (which would, at least, give a reason for why DH Smith got moved and thus not in it)

Then eventually you get Orton involved in there, trying to help him win the title upon his return. I like it.</font>

BigDaddyCool 06-30-2008 12:10 PM

I think there is a key difference between Orton and DiBiase, DiBiase can cut a promo and comes from a good wrestling family. Orton came from a family of lackeys.

Hanso Amore 06-30-2008 12:35 PM

In recent memory, he has the best Dad to follow up, storyline wise. He can still play off the rich Million dollar man deal. That shit can work for a kid.

I mean, Dusty was a fat son of a plumber, but that can be dropped down to Cody, he will simply be Grandson of a Plumber.

Alot of big names kids have big shoes to fill, but at least this Jr. is off to a good start.

Volare 06-30-2008 01:04 PM

Damn his theme is stuck in my head now.

addy2hotty 06-30-2008 01:36 PM

ECW

Hanso Amore 06-30-2008 03:51 PM

What did he use as a theme?

It was some horrible rip off of Pink Floyd's "Money" with some retarded lyrics over the guitar.

Xero 06-30-2008 04:54 PM

It's about on par with the original Money Inc music in that it's more of a novelty than anything else.

Honestly, though, wish they'd use Shane's music. Get Shane to be in their stable, I don't care how, I just want them to use his music.

Destor 06-30-2008 05:08 PM

Ted is good in the ring, his style wont have to change to get over in the WWE, so that will work for him. But I have to say, he was terrible last night. He was unbelievable on the mic and just came off as completely awkward. Same thing when he worked commentary Monday. So fr he's been a major let down and I hope he gets on the ball soon.

BigDaddyCool 06-30-2008 05:18 PM

I'm not sure if a millionaire gimmick is going to work on Raw for him. I mean we already have Vince as a crazy billionaire and JBL as the arrogant self-made millionaire. Unless they all combine their money together and get something like that, i guess.

Lock Jaw 06-30-2008 06:22 PM

That theme song has already run the "priceless" catchphrase into the ground.

Mooияakeя™ 06-30-2008 08:16 PM

OMG. It's back to ripping off songs. That so trying to be money by Pink Floyd. The start they've just replaced "Money" with "Priceless"... lawsuit pls, just to kill it.

BTW, if u don't agree / don't know the song:

I don't think they're trying to hide it.

I'll have to agree with Loose Cannon.

McLegend 07-01-2008 12:46 AM

He has no shot.

Dibiase might be a "poor man's Orton", but I think his pattern will be somewhat similar (as Loose Cannon described).

p.s. Orton....what a waste. :nono: Orton, like Brock Lesnar, could have been DAMN huge had the WWE simply delayed their face turns (and instead, let the fans cheer them even as top heels....to the point where fans would be literally creaming their pants at the idea of them turning face.....like how the WWE pushed The Rock during his world title run).

McLegend 07-01-2008 12:51 AM

And the fact that he's gonna have a huge shadow to walk in doesn't help either.

Lux 07-01-2008 01:07 AM

I think he can do well, if WWE doesn't fuck up... what am i saying

MCEazy 07-01-2008 01:08 AM

I'm not exactly sold on Ted Jr. just yet, his mic skills still need a bit of work. Like the theme song though.

The CyNick 07-01-2008 01:40 PM

I still think Orton should hook up with Dibiase and Rhodes and thats the faction they go with.

So I've only seen Dibiase on RAW (didnt see him work the PPV), but I think he looks good. Like his little tag line, like where they can go with him in terms of being a rich kid, and he cuts a decent promo. Too early for comparisons, but he looks good so far.

Xero 07-01-2008 01:42 PM

He looked a lot better last night. And I actually watched an entire segment with Cody Rhodes in it, so he (DiBiase) must be doing something good.

The Priceless Players are going somewhere. :y:

Volare 07-01-2008 02:37 PM

I can't believe he used the drop punch like his dad did.

Loose Cannon 07-01-2008 05:53 PM

I definately like the pair. Great theme. I think Cody still needs to work a lot on his mic skills. He seems to be forcing a lot of the time where it's not coming off as natural. But together they look good. I do agree Orton needs to be paired with them and give them a rub.

You know what I would actually like to see. Dustin Rhodes come back and confront Cody. It would be a cool little angle if donw write.

Well, Randy Orton is the man, so I hope so.

Gertner 07-01-2008 06:07 PM

I really like him

Hanso Amore 07-01-2008 06:21 PM

He used the Drop Punch? And the million dollar dream?

Man, I bet Sr. was loving it. I would mark out for it, I love Dibiase Classic. Now if he can only get the tear away tuxedo working....

Seriously though, backwards falling middle rope elbow drop for the win. No idea what you call it.

Hanso Amore 07-01-2008 06:23 PM

Yo...

WWE was scouting the older Dibiase Bro.

bring him and Dustin in, confront them abotu m,aking the dads look bad....

Then have Cawdy and Jr tell them they are a Has been and Never will be, and a nice little fued would start. I would buy it.

I like small one and done mini fueds.
