Super Mario 3 has NOTHING on the SNES version.

Hired Hitman 12-08-2003 02:15 PM

Super Mario 3 had more depth than world except for multiple paths and shortcuts through the game

SMW was FAR FAR too easy and anyone who could finish SMB3 could finish SMW in a day

Ninti the Mad 12-08-2003 03:00 PM

How did it have more depth?

But SMW had that calypso style steel drum retro theme.

Variety of costumes and powers perhaps? Mario world only had a few :(

Boondock Saint 12-08-2003 03:10 PM

Never had SNES. So I voted SMB. Can't go wrong with the original, although 3 comes in a close second.

Well, SMW had Yoshi and hidden blocks you had to find to access other areas.

The colored ones that made the broken up lines into blocks.

Sm3 only had three extra suits.

DS 12-08-2003 04:09 PM

Super Mario World. Was just better I guess.

G 12-08-2003 04:11 PM

SMB....Can't touch the original.

Penner 12-08-2003 05:14 PM

Super Mario Bros. 3 was definitely the best.

Kane Knight 12-08-2003 05:23 PM

what, no Wario games in the list?

SMB 2 Japan?

Oh, 'tis a sad day for Mario fans everywhere... :(

Disturbed316 12-08-2003 05:30 PM

WTF. The original game ruled. Not to mention the fact it tagged with Duck Hunt. It > Every Mario game after.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-08-2003 06:10 PM

Anyways, it's all irrelevant due to Super Mario 64 being the bestest

Sickboy 12-08-2003 06:14 PM

Super Mario 3 is the best Mario game I've played, though the original with the Duck Hunt is quite the shit.

:y: Duck Hunt ruled.

Kapoutman 12-08-2003 11:50 PM

I had a hard time deciding between SMB3, SMW and SM64.

Word. As long as you made it challenging by stepping more than a foot away from the screen. That always bothered me when my friends would get right up to it. But I admit, I was guilty of it from time to time. :shifty:

Super Mario World. But IMO, it's really hard to choose a favourite.

Youshi's Island is like th only one I hate.

Head 12-09-2003 02:07 AM

Super Mario World hands down. Still had the classic Mario gameplay, but with cooler graphics, and Yoshi.

Triple A 12-09-2003 02:09 AM

SMB3333333

I believe they called it "Te Lost Levels" Stateside.

WTF, my internet was messin' up and I clicked the wrong one. I voted for Sunshine. :o

Ah well, the game's under-rated, it could use some credibility

My actual vote would have to go to Mario 64 though

Hired Hitman 12-09-2003 12:29 PM

what the hell?

Super Mario World has better game play

ie. better use of objects (throwing shell/springboard) up and placing them anywhere!

plus a better map layout. mario 3 is crap, even if it did take awhile to pass, i vote by gameplay not how long the game is.

Yeah, when my friends laughed at me for missing a duck, I'd be like, "Yeah, but you've go the gun right up against the screen...I'm at the other end of the room..."

Not that I was NEVER guilty of that myself, but it's only a challenge from a distance, and it's only fun if it's a challenge.

Y2Ant 12-09-2003 01:52 PM

Hahaha Duck Hunt, that was an awesome game, that silly dog in it

And those other ones, Hogan's Alley and Gunsmoke, they ruled too.

Shame you can't play them on an emulator :(
