WM19 Question...

Was there a specific reason that Nathan Jones was taken out of the Jones/Taker vs Show/A-Train match or was it always the plan to make it a handicapped match (which I doubt)?

Destor 07-05-2008 09:44 PM

I always figured that Jones wasn't on the level they expected him to have reached by that point and pulled to save it from being an abortion. But I have no proof of this.

Nathan Jones was busy searching for wow gold for Cheap,WoW power leveling,Buy World of Warcraft gold,FFXI Gil,WoW powerleveling services, which will help you make more wow gold fast!!!

That match was pretty awful regardless. Not one of Taker's best WM moments.

The match wasn't that bad. Although technically, because the match was officially changed to a handicap match, Undertaker should have been disqualified when Nathan Jones did a spin kick on Big Show.

I think Destor's right. I think coz he sucked so much WWE pulled him out of it. Bless him...

The week of WrestleMania Nathan Jones expressed to Undertaker and others that he did not believe he was ready to compete in front of all of those fans at WM, and was afraid that he would make the other three look bad.

It was decided that they would do the injury angle at the show and then have him do a return run in to help Taker get the win.

He didn't last much longer in the company, going down to OVW, and then making a very short return before quitting for good on December 2003.

Jones had the look, it's really a shame they called him up too early and was exposed.

Fair play to Jones for realizing he wasn't up to scratch though

If that's the case that is very awesome of him.

Lol not really the best thing to be telling your bosses just days before the biggest event of the year and you're scheduled to go perform in front of 60,000.

Wow, I always thought it had something to do with keeping his record "clean" so to speak. Technicalities of his winning streak coming up saying one of his wins he wasn't alone, or some shit, so it can't be counted.

Guess I should have just remembered that WWE doesn't care about consistency/continuity

XL 07-09-2008 08:30 PM

That's what I remember hearing at the time...that they wanted Taker's streak to look as strong as possible and a win in a tag match would have been seen as a blemish on the record.

Danny Electric 07-09-2008 09:08 PM

Anything to do with him filming Troy?

Nark Order 07-09-2008 10:49 PM

He was pretty terrible. Brad Pitt defeated him in like 4 seconds once.
