Ok what's your favourite punk song, could be old or new and any style.

TheNamelessOne 03-19-2004 01:18 PM

The Lostprophets are not punk. The Lostprophets are a shitty nu-metal band, devoid of any originality.

Anyone heard of the Deconstruction Festival? In 2002 the Lostprophets got booed off stage. Lead singer even got hit on the head with a bottle. Why? Deconstruction = Punk festival. Lostprophets = shi...not punk. Those were the days.

My choice = "Bloodstains" by Agent Orange.

Yes, and Reel Big Fish play thrash.
Have you actually heard the first Lostprophets record?

Ummm let me think, yes I have. For about the past three years, I've got the one with all the interludes(the original).
They are not nu-metal
Listen to 'For Sure' and tell me that they're a nu-metal band.
They don't sound like Limp Bizkit or Papa Roach to me.

Limp Bizkit barely sound like Korn or Slipknot, but they are all considered nu-metal.

The whole nu-metal thing was branded around to much. Slipknot are not a nu-metal band.
The nu-metal tag means shit to me because it was just a put together definition for most bands that came along at the time.

MoRcHeEbA 03-19-2004 01:55 PM

KEEP IT ON TOPIC BOYS

lost prophets are punkish by the way

If you beleive that, then simply remove Slipknot from my statement and you still have the same point. Nu-metal is not an era of music, its a genre.

Right, we are not getting anywhere with this - How are the Lostprophets punk?

Kane Knight 03-19-2004 02:01 PM

Let's see...

The Pixies--Monkey gone To Heaven
Mission of Burma--That's When I Reach for My Revolver
(Kano had the right idea, wrong album with the Who)The Who--My Generation

road doggy dogg 03-19-2004 02:01 PM

Blink 182 - Dick Lips

They have different elements to there music, metal, punk, even indie, emo etc.
The term nu-metal is too wide.
