Any Pendulum fans?

I'm pretty sure there's a few artists out there called Pendulum, but this one is a Electronica/Drum & Bass group.

Someone from work got me to listen to a Pendulum song called "9000 Miles". Really cool song, I downloaded it as soon as I got home and haven't stopped listening to them. Not usually the sorta music I would listen to, but it was a really good song.

Hoping to get their album "In Silico" on Ebay. In the meantime are there any fans here? Any song recommendations?

I only like one song of theirs, Propane Nightmares. Shame it's been played to death on radio in the UK.

Anything off the first album, toned down their stuff quite a bit on the new album.

They are awesome, have seen them live a couple of times.
Your better off trying to find their mixes, but Hold Your Colour was an amazing album for its time. Still listen to it every so often.

Pendulum are shit and so far from drum n bass. HYC was alright but made cheaply with the same loops, at least it was catchy. in silico is such a load of shit, not even dnb.

listen to black sun empire, dj aggers, stakka & skynet, dieselboy, andy c, TC, fabio, friction, spor, omni trio, ram trilogy, tech itch, liondub, bungle, photek, bad company, shimon, chase & status, nphect n dizplay, lynx, dj hype, concord dawn, moving fusion, high contrast, futurebound, future prophecies, logistics, clipz & die, noisia, calibre, dj snige, dj profile, dj trace, subfocus, ed rush and optical, evol intent, klute, dj fresh, aquasky, total science, calyx, teebee, marcus intalex, commix, dillinja, dj hazard, drumsound & bassline smith, phace etc. are all good drum and bass artists/djs. not shitty mainstream pendulum.

I like In Silico, got some pretty catchy tunes on it. One of my fav albums thus far this year, but they may be due more to the fact there hasnt been much good music this year more than how much i like it :P
I have been enjoying it and playing it recently, even though i usually dislike drum n bass type stuff. Usually its just a pounding mash of tish being flung against walls and the people that listen to it are drugfucked alternative wankers who serve no purpose to humanity.

This is the exact reason I never listen to music radio. Killed off a bunch of songs for me. That and they seem to play the same 8 songs over and over

CSL 07-14-2008 12:11 PM

Oh and Pendulum aren't bad at all

Fabien Barthez 07-14-2008 12:16 PM

The first album was good, it was the perfect cross-over album to bring in exposure from the mainstream.

The new one is a bit lame though, it is more pop than DnB now.

There are a bunch of massive andy C mixed DnB compelations you can get or torrent, that if you like Pendulum, you will find pretty banging.

It is just a shame that the DnB culture here is a bit unsettling to be around. I have never been to a decent DnB club, or to a dedicated night in a big club and not felt uncomfortable with the atmosphere. Thats why I stick to House, I guess

Fabien Barthez 07-14-2008 12:17 PM

oh yeah, song suggestions...

They remixed Prodigy's Voodoo People. It's awesome.

Fabien Barthez 07-14-2008 12:22 PM

Must be just north of the crapital then. And deffinately the crapital itself.

Disturbed316 07-14-2008 01:13 PM

Propane Nightmares is the only song of theirs I've heard and its alright, not my usual cup of tea but pretty decent. Haven't heard anything else of theirs though.

Don't be an elitist piece of shit :p 2 Years ago that album was excellent.
Bet you'd rag on Digital Nation as well :p

D-Bridge this weekend ;) Spor and Black Sun Empire in the next month too.

lucky cunt  but i get FUCKING NOISIA on the 27th so suck it :p

first album was not bad, i still bang out old HYC tunes now, but after IS i just see how shitty they are. i heard goldie trying to mix granite on juice or whatever the fuck it was, sounded terrible the new tracks are totally rigid.

that said, voodoo people mix, babylon rising, tarantula, HYC (song), still grey and their mix of pack of wolves were massive tracks. note that down rammsteinmad, this is as good as Pendulum gets.

Just John 07-14-2008 06:44 PM

its because of their shitty label that pendulum turned so shit, that and they tried to appeal to the nu rave market, which has just dissolved out of fashion. if they were on a decent label like Ram records or similar, they would be intense.

Bad Company 07-14-2008 06:55 PM

Yeah, they tried to make money, I guess they made some, but their latest tracks are shit. That Voodoo People mix was immense.

Just John 07-14-2008 07:09 PM

best way to kick off voodoo people is just as the main synths come in before the drum n bass, just sound off an air-raid siren noise, sounds fucking intense because it ends at just the right time for the dnb to be uninterrupted
