R.I.P Eddy Murphey's career
Pay your respect bitches then go rent Beverly Hills cop to remember the good days before he became disneyfied. sad sad man
I paid my respects 10 years ago.
LOL. Remindsme of a thread I made recently.
Its so funny because I believe his movies have gone down the drain horribly.
So when I was taken along with my cousins to go see Meet Dave the other day my expectations were as low as they could be. I actualy enjoyed the movie a bit. Some funny parts in there. I would rather watch that again over Wall E. |
Don't they say this every time he makes a bomb? He just gets right back up and makes 5 more bombs.
Do the movies even Bomb? I thought they just sucked, made a shitload of money because Eddie's in them, and carried him another day.

I think it made either 5 or 10 million in the box office and the movie costs 50 mil to make.

Holy shit. Also, THANK GOD.
It'll recoup internationally and through distribution/DVD sales. And how could they expect anything more with Hellboy 2, Wall-E and Hancock out there.
RP made the same joke I was gonna make and delivered it way better than I was going to
Thing is, every few years, he'll step out of the Disney Zone and make a pretty decent film, Dreamgirls for instance and Bowfinger
Aside from the bombs his movies actually make some dough.
He has signed on to do a fourth Beverly Hills Cop film so he could get back to good form on that one.
Bah, third one was shit compared to the first two IMO.
I don't think Eddie's career is going anywhere. His shit has caused him to lose an Oscar (for Dreamgirls) and Meet Dave was terrible and all, but he won't go anywhere. People have Batman on the mind.

A couple have, and most of them weren't even all that great. So while it could happen, it's more likely that it'll fuck up a perfectly good series that should have been left alone. Got to admit, though, I liked Lethal Weapon 4. Even with Joe Pesci and Chris Rock in it. |
Financially, just about all of them have. Critically and among fans, most of them have done pretty well. I think it's because people would rather see a 60 year old Indiana Jones, John McClane, Terminator or Rambo kick ass than Vin Diesel or Jason Statham and I'm with them 100%
I'll see Beverly Hills Cop 4. The action genre is dead outside of comic book movies or franchise extensions because there aren't any action stars. |
