Rap and Living at Home

I posted a video "Tonights the Night" by Kris Kross over in the wrestling thread, as part of the 'Greatest Returns (Come backs)" Thread. It just kind of came to mind when I thought of attempted come backs.

But then I remembered the song, and a certain line in the song.

Tonight's tha night I call up all the girls
I used to go to school with,
Fool with, and all the Niggas that I'm cool with
Let 'em all know that my mom is gone
And it will be tomorrow before she comes back home

Years before that song came out, Snoop Dogg came out with Gin and Juice, and in that song he says...

May i, kick a little something for the gs (yeah)
And, make a few ends as (yeah!) I breeze, through
Two in the mornin and the partys still jumpin
Cause my momma aint home

Since when is it cool to live with your mom?

You expect rap to make sense?

Indifferent Clox 07-14-2008 06:24 PM

it was a fad in the late 90s to live with your mom.

There has been a recent uprising in the coolness factor since i moved back in with my parents.

also failure to launch picked up steam off this.

Now that I think about it I was way hipper when I lived with my mom.

That was back when I used to run with the G's and pimp up some ho downs.

They were young. They lived with their parents. Tough to understand?

You do realize this is a Kriss Kross song right? It's not like Jay Z said this...

There you go..

Snoop[ was like 18 when Gin and Juice came out and Kriss Kross were like 12..

Not that hard to figure out..

Ice Cubes mom was cooking him a pork free breakfast in "It was a Good Day" and that was years after he left NWA..

Explain that one..

Maybe he just went over to her house for a nice Sunday breakfast because he loves his mother because he is a good son?
