Someone help me out...
Was The Great American Bash worth ordering? Without giving me any spoilers, let me know if it was $30. Were there any great matches (it seems like a few of them were destined to be good). Were there some storyline surprises? Did the right men go over?
Simple yes or no answers would be appreciated. Rep given. |
Yes it was worth it. trust me!
|
BTW
matt/shelton for the US title and Y2J v HBK stole the show. |
It's a yes to each of the questions you've asked, Alienoid.

Thank you, amigos. :y:
I generally trust both of your opinions, so I might go ahead and treat myself. |
Also, even though I'm a Matt Hardy mark, I've really loved how a lot of his feuds recently have put him in the position where I don't care who wins in his matches. MVP, Chavo Guerrero, Shelton Benjamin, etc. In those circumstances, the outcome never really mattered to me, I just knew I was in for a solid show, and it made me a generally happy camper.
If only all WWE programs could be like that. |
I'd generally expect good things from everything on the SmackDown! side. John Morrison & The Miz have been fantastic, and their match with Jesse & Festus surprised me with how well it was put together. Finlay is fucking Finlay, and Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins have tons of potential, and will probably be shaped by the matches they have now.
Michelle McCool and Natalya have shown really great chemistry, and the Divas matches always feature nice little spots. I'm almost certain that will be an underrated gem. Matt Hardy has become a ring general, and Shelton Benjamin can be the goods a majority of the time. I don't care what anyone says, the man doesn't lack personality. When he looked at MVP after Porter laughed his ass off at Shelton being tossed aside by Big Show...priceless. Then you've got the main event, which I'm sure would be good. I've actually enjoyed Triple H on SmackDown!, and Edge has been working really hard. This Vickie Guerrero stuff has to go somewhere, and both guys seem like they've been destined to have a good match against each other for some time. |
You'll be pleasantly surprised. You didn't even mention jbl v cena.
|
JBL vs. Cena doesn't really have my interest, but I expect it will be a good brawl, as that seems to be the way when the rules are lifted on these guys. I think it may end up being a way to write JBL off television, but who knows? I'll have to wait and see. :p
|
Yeah i wasn't expecting it to be good but it exceeded expectations.
|
Dumb finishes for a couple matches, but most of the work on the show was good
|
From the standpoint that it's WWE's Great American Bash, it was good. Normally the bash sucks. Like, it makes me want to cry a little.
As their normal PPV's go, it was dime a dozen. |
I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to see it, they had problems and I'm not sure if they ever got it going cause we lefted after 30 minutes. I saw the JBL Cena match, it sucked.
|
Well you think anything sucks, BDC.

Yeah, if they are going to do backstage stuff like that they need to stick to one camera/one take.
Why not just watch it online? It's probably up somewhere by now. |

Also, I can understand 2 cameras. But they just kepts going from camera to camera, that just looks unrealistic. |
It was a good show. 7/10.
|
6/10 if you missed the first two matches.

I saw the PPV. I was quite happy to have ordered. Colin Delaney, FTW!
Matt vs. Shelton was good, and HBK vs. Y2J was epic drama. Triple H and Edge had a good match, although I wouldn't like to see them face off every week. The opening match was really fun, too. JBL vs. Cena was...OK. I mean, it was what it was. There was some great stunt-work there, but for the most part, I am not much of a fan of either guy. I marked out when JBL won, though. |
