Rey says show me the money, WWE says no.

Provided all that is true, Rey has had a lot of injuries since being in the WWE. I don't know how much he's making, but if he's getting less money than someone like Snitsky, then he has every right to be upset. Rey probably makes a crap load of money off merchandise though. Is anyone ever happy in pro wrestling?

Rey sells as a much merch as Cena. He deserves what ever figure he's wanting. He's drawing money, pay him money.
|
Rey is entitle to the same percentage from Merch sales that Cena gets from selling his merch. But should Rey shouldn't be getting payed ppv percentages for not being in ppvs. I think that is fair. Plus whatever his contract minimum is.
|
Agreed.
|
I also believe that his base contract level, I believe that is what is being argued here, should probably be compariable to the other semi-maineventers, like Jericho..maybe a little less until Ray can stay healthy for longer than he is out. He should be getting paid like a maineventer because he isn't one. If he goes back to Mexico, I doubt he'll get the same merch sales he does in WWE.
|
Meh. I won't miss him if he goes.
|
he should go to tna n get killed by joe
|
I hope he ages drastically between the time we see him in WWE and TNA.
Then he can team up or feud with Hector and it'd be like he's teaming/feuding with Eddie again. |
I miss the mid-to-late-90's Rey.
|
A younger Rey would have been worth major money. Now he can't even do his "I'm jumping from underneath the stage" intro because of his knees. He's mainly seen as a luchador, which overshadows anything else he could do. If he can't use that lucha-style, then he's not worth more money.
Besides, the guy has a freaking waterslide in his backyard, and he wants more money? What the crap? |
Well, if he doesn't get more money, he'll have to trade in his waterslide for the model that's six inches shorter.
And that's like the equivalent of 10 feet to Rey. |
Xero: I was thinking the other day while watching iMPACT! that Hector looks frighteningly like Eddie. It was eerie. :shifty:
|
I swear, first time I saw him on TNA I thought it WAS Eddie.
|
Rey most certainly does suck. The lousy mexican.

This is from the wrestlescoop.com salaries. I guess they are from October 04 to February 06, and it's like an average of how much they made each year, merchandise, PPV bonuses and base salary included.
Batista: $813,000 Big Show: $1,000,000 (holy shit) Booker T: $375,000 Chris Benoit: $488,000 Eddie Guerrero: $372,000 Edge: $704,000 John Cena: $1,743,000 (good God) JBL: $786,000 Kane: $851,000 Kurt Angle: $1,023,000 Randy Orton: $711,000 Shawn Michaels: $1,045,000 Triple H: $2,013,000 (This can't be right...) Undertaker: $1,811,000 Rey Mysterio: $414,000 Rey was making around the same as Booker T and Eddie, which is about where I see him. I suppose, however, it is insulting that he's making less than Randy Orton. |
Don't know how accurate anything on the internet is regarding wrestling, but if that list is more or less true, then it's pretty sad how Benoit was making less than Randy Orton and JBL at that time.
|
On the flip side, it baffles me how much Kane was/is getting paid.
Also note how bigger guys are in the upper-tier of their pay bracket. |
Don't know how accurate that would be, but what really surprises me is how much Edge is getting. Keep in mind the time frame here: Edge only became a WWE Champion in January 2006, yet he was making more money than Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Booker T.

Even before 2006 this guy put his ass on the line in TLC matches that people loved. I'm not shocked in any way, shape, or form that Edge was paid more than these guys. |
How much does Matt Hardy get paid?
|
$2.00 and catering.
|
Guess i can understand his frustration, but he's still got aload of money to live on, so somehow i have no sympathy.
|
I also assume they get paided everytime they are on the cover of WWE Magazine, and the kid zine. If that is true, Rey has to be making a ton from the Kid Zine.
|
I kinda agree with both parties here. If Rey sells a lot of merchandise then maybe he should be entitled to a bit more money. On the other hand, WWE is totally right when they say he is injury prone.
I like Rey, but if he were to leave to go to AAA it probably wouldn't bother me too much. If those salary figures are accurate, then Rey is still on good money. Hell he should try and become a Pro Wrestler here in the UK, then see how much he complains about his WWE wages. |
Quote:
....I just thought about Nigel McGuiness killing Rey with the Tower of London, or a sick rebound lariat. It made me happy. |
I think you have to be working 200 dates a year before you can start demanding top teir wages. That's before you consider the fact that its Rey.
He would probably be more successful trying to negotiate a better merchandise percentage and not even think of insulting the WWE by asking for more money to sit at home and feel sore. |
He just moved to raw, he should concentrate on that for now. Or has moving him to raw made his ego so fucking big now?
|
He sells a lot of merch, so he's entitled to whatever he gets from those sales. But he's barely on TV because he gets hurt every six months. He shouldn't demand more money if he's been sitting at home since February (or whenever he got hurt). Plus, he's awful and he doesn't deserve to be on RAW. I wouldn't miss him if he left.
|
2 random things that spring to mind.
1) Lol, 450 won Reys pay rise. 2) Did Big-Show steal HBM's smile? |

Anyway, so hoping that half of his money goes to Eddie.

Can anyone tell me what justifies Triple H's 2 million dollar salary? Fucking insane. |

Well the asshole is going to inherit McMahon's money when he dies, so what the fuck? Pay someone else, or maybe, I dunno, put it into your shittily designed PPV sets and make it more interesting? Don't give it to Triple Douche. |
We established in the past that the lists with wrestlers' salaries are very false.
