“Anchorman” writer-director Adam McKay tells Entertainment Weekly that he and Will Ferrell “have begun work” on a sequel that will bring ‘70s broadcaster Ron Burgundy into the 1980s.

Why?

U-Warrior 07-24-2008 07:27 PM

Awesome.

At least it's not another sports movie.

XL 07-24-2008 07:37 PM

Best. News. Ever.

My prayers for another Will Ferrell plays Will Ferrell movie have been answered. Nice to see they're not even going to try and pretend they've come up with a new character. Wonder what strange and silly predicaments ol' Ron Burgundy will find himself in this time...

Boondock Saint 07-24-2008 07:54 PM

Possibilities are endless, really.

I hope Steve Carell is in it again

Willie hears you and Willie don't care.

I am afraid that if Carrell returns, they will shoehorn Brick into a bigger role when he really only works as a minor character.

Mr. Monday Morning 07-26-2008 06:20 AM

Because Ferrell has been tanking it ever since the first one, obviously

Bad idea. I am so skeptical about this. Anchorman was fantastic. It was a rare, surprisingly funny movie that worked for the sheer unique inanity of it all. Rehashing it is not good news.

On the other hand, it might be hilarious. I will see it regardless, because I enjoyed the first.

Lock Jaw 07-26-2008 12:50 PM

Anchorman was horrible.

Buzzkill 08-01-2008 04:31 AM

Ron Burgundy in the 80's could make for some funny situations. I'm down

D Mac 08-01-2008 04:44 AM

Never seen Anchorman.

Dave Youell 08-01-2008 05:36 AM

Wait a sec,

The first one was from the 70's? I thought it was from present day!

XL 08-01-2008 10:28 AM

lol

And Diesel Mac, you need to sort that out!

Gertner 08-01-2008 11:41 AM

Anchorman is probably the funniest movie I've ever seen. Hopefully they don't fuck it up.......they probably will.

Sums up what I was thinking.

Ditto what Mitch said.

Also they'll never top "bark twice if you're in Milwaukee" even if they try forever

Tazz Dan 08-03-2008 02:47 AM

I loved that movie. Sex Panther

Also San Diego = a Wales Vagina, and their rendition of Afternoon Delight was fucking hilarious. Defiently looking forward to it.
