Who was your favourite 'Suprise Entrant' in the Royal Rumble?

Just watching the Rumble from 2000 where Bob Backlund was a suprise entrant and I got to wondering who everyone's favourite suprise entrant / suprise return was.

Afterlife 07-31-2008 09:16 PM

Goldust's return as entrant #2 in whatever year it was. The return that led to Booker/Goldust as a team. I was fucking ecstatic.

thedamndest 07-31-2008 09:23 PM

Mr. Perfect was cool. Also Drew Carey.

Dorkchop 07-31-2008 09:48 PM

Mr. Perfect!

jindrak 07-31-2008 09:51 PM

Cena...markout moment right there.

I second that

Theo Dious 07-31-2008 10:10 PM

Definitely Drew Carey.

Lock Jaw 07-31-2008 10:41 PM

Definitely Mr. Perfect. Though he was announced beforehand, wasn't he? Thus not much of a surprise.

It was, however, a surprise how far he got in that match.

Xero 07-31-2008 10:58 PM

In terms of "No way, what the fuck", Cena takes it by a mile. NOBODY seriously expected him. Fuck, I thought it was going to be Show.

Tazz Dan 07-31-2008 11:53 PM

Tatanka was pretty WTF too.

MCEazy 07-31-2008 11:59 PM

Drew Carrey for sure.

El Fangel 08-01-2008 12:45 AM

Drew Carrey

Mr. Pierre 08-01-2008 02:01 AM

Cena in 2008 by a long shot, and Big Show in 2001 in a distant 2nd.

Fox 08-01-2008 02:02 AM

Cactus Jack, Mankind and Dude Love.

Cena, people were saying it but I dont think anyone actualy belelived it, it was more joking than anything.

I marked for it.

Anybody Thrilla 08-01-2008 02:38 AM

I was drunk in Las Vegas watching the 2008 Royal Rumble in a packed auditorium, and when Cena showed up, that place erupted. I marked like a little bitch. Nothing compares, my friends.

Splaya 08-01-2008 02:48 AM

Cena

When I was at Buffalo Wild wings watching it, the place when nuts. Then people starting walking out when he came and eliminated people left and right.

When the buzzer hit, some kid screamed "Wellllllllllllll" as if Show was about to come out, then the loudest that place has been

When Foley came out in the Rumble that Benoit one. I marked the fuck out so badly.

SammyG 08-01-2008 03:06 AM

Easily Cena.

Juan 08-01-2008 03:22 AM

PS. John Cena sucks, as does anything he's involved in.

I was pissed more than anything when he returned at the Rumble, cuz then it was pretty obvious he was gonna win.

Boondock Saint 08-01-2008 03:51 AM

Haku

FourFifty 08-01-2008 04:15 AM

Cena was the biggest shocker. I don't think anyone can deny him his dues. However, my fav has to be when Mick Foley went in the rumble, three times.

Londoner 08-01-2008 04:27 AM

Gonna have to go with those who have said Drew Carey, fortunately i didn't see cena(pun intended) return at the rumble due to not wasting money on it. :)

The Mackem 08-01-2008 07:07 AM

Who was the first surprise Rumble entrant? It seems to be becoming more of a regular event lately.

V 08-01-2008 07:26 AM

he wasn't actually an entrant but that one royal rumble where Undertaker's gong hit was probably my biggest mark out at a royal rumble

DaVe 08-01-2008 07:58 AM

Was gonna say the same thing. (2004, btw.)

Wouldn't say Cena's return was my favourite, but it was certainly the most memorable... since I'm struggling to remember any others.

Loose Cannon 08-01-2008 09:49 AM

never saw the Cena Rumble, so I really can't comment. Mr Perfect was by far the best that I saw.

Both me and Danny Electric marked like little bitches when he returned in that Rumble. Both of us were childhood marks for him.

Dark-Slicer Diago 08-01-2008 10:16 AM

For me it was Cena, though Mick Foley being in 4 times was a shock too.

TerranRich 08-01-2008 10:55 AM

Why is everybody all of a sudden a Cena mark? Jesus Christ, stick to your ideals, IWC! :p

Honestly, Mr. Perfect is my all-time favorite. Just the way he came down the ring, cocky as usual, and at one point (and I refer to this quite often) Austin AND Triple Hwere trying to push him over the top rope, and he actually took the time to spit out his gum, swat it with his hand, and then fight back. Priceless. :D

Here it is below, about a minute (or less) in:

Watching these live videos of Cena's entrance at the Rumble is awesome but it kinda depresses me. This man could have been HUGE! Like... epically huge.

That is actually my top favorite. He had the storyline going on with Orton, so it was teased that Foley was going to be there. But I believe it was Test who got hurt, and you see Austin bitching at someone to get to the ring like he was all pissed. And it ends up being Mick Foley. That was a markout moment.

Yeah, me too. I was shattered when he joined the Million Dollar Corporation :(

Are you kidding? I don't get what was so surprising by it? I agree with the sentiment that it was more annoying than anything. RAW was relaxing to watch without it being the Cena show. When his music hit, it was more an "of course the WWE would fuck this up" moment than anything.

For me, anyway. I can appreciate that some of you mustn't have been prepared for something like that. For what reason, I do not know.

#1-norm-fan 08-03-2008 06:59 AM

Because everyone was convinced that he was going to be gone for a few more months. It was a huge shocker. And me, not being a Cena hater, injoyed it a tad bit more.

Halbowsky 08-03-2008 11:38 AM

Definitely Cena. I was there at MSG and the place absolutely erupted when his music hit...but then everyone realized who it was and quickly turned on him.

I watched the video for 4 to 5 times. The guy is screaming like had a car crash or something. It was priceless. I was at my hostel during the rumble and all my hostel mates were screaming on top of their voices when Cena came in.
