Song Help

Okay, so I'm editing the opening montage sequence for this movie and I need a song to use with it.

It underwater and I want kind of an epic feel, something with a lot of "Ahhh Ahhh Ahhhh" kind of thing. Think the scene in Titanic when they first show the ship outside and Leo is running up to it. Very epic, sweeping track. Something of that nature, or at least with a similar sound.

Can be any genre, any medium, band, whatever. Bring it and I'll pass along some rep.

Nah j/k

'The Oh of Pleasure' - Ray Lynch (not really epic)
'Hoppipola' - Sigur Ros

Can you give us any more about the context of the underwaterness? What is the time period? How long are we underwater? What is the rest of your movie's score/soundtrack like?

The movie is about a lonely, kind of awkward depressed kid with an overbearing mother. He's just graduated high school and there is a gag at the beginning where he appears to hang himself, but is actually doing inverted pull ups. In his suit.

He goes to a farmer's market at his mother's request and buys what he's told to buy and ends up seeing a fish tank at a fish stand. He meets a beautiful girl there and its kind of like she pulls him out of his shell.

The opening montage is for the opening credits and title. I'm using underwater footage of colorful fish, creatures, sharks, sunlight from beneath the water, etc.

There are shots of the fish swimming in giant schools through these huge rocks and castle-looking things which I plan to use as the opening shot (there's one that hangs back, ie. breaking away from what he's told to do), and this is where I would like the epic feeling to come in.

The first one is nearly perfect around 4:00. Good work, Manning. Double rep for you.

I would say take your pick from any Godspeed You Black Emperor Song. They all sound pretty epic, and you could easily imagine it taking place underwater.

I'm kind of wondering how Queen--Bijou and the untitled track (Track 13, I think) from the Made in Heaven album would work. It depends, I guess, on how energetic you want. Both make me think of things to come, though.

almost ready by dinosaur jr.

Something by apple seed cast or ...and you will know us by the trail of our dead might be nice

how about "Staring at the sun" by tv on the radio

That last one might be perfect
