Is anyone left from the Invasion?

Seriously, I can only think of Dreamer and Charles Robinson. Besides them, is anyone left from the WCW/ECW -> WWE merger?

Loose Cannon 08-15-2008 04:33 PM

Chavo. And is Helms still with the company?

Mr. JL 08-15-2008 04:41 PM

Ya Helms is still there, just injured

Xero 08-15-2008 04:42 PM

So that's four.

Loose Cannon 08-15-2008 04:47 PM

not surprising or anything though. it's been about 7 years now. pro wrestling is definately not an area where most guys stick around for a long period of time. here today..gone today. in the AMW guy's case at least

Boondock Saint 08-15-2008 05:21 PM

Chuck Palumbo...although this is his second run with the company...

Gerard 08-15-2008 05:26 PM

Taz

oh sorry, "Tazz" :shifty:

Loose Cannon 08-15-2008 05:28 PM

Taz already debuted a year before

Gerard 08-15-2008 05:29 PM

Bollocks

Helms is my new hero.

CSL 08-17-2008 04:33 PM

Noble maybe? Although there was a release in between

#1-norm-fan 08-17-2008 04:43 PM

Yeah there are guys that were released and then picked back up but as far as guys who have been around since the invasion, I think we're done.

thedamndest 08-17-2008 05:55 PM

You know what would have made a better Stone Cold Invasion angle? If Stone Cold defected to WCW to prove to Eric Bischoff and that world that he was the man to lead WCW after all, and play up the whole "Eric fired me over the phone" thing, which was pretty well known at that point. Would have made a lot more sense/not made Austin look like as much of a pussy as "Vince didn't love me." I mean it didn't matter in the long run since, you know, it's Austin, but still.

Loose Cannon 08-17-2008 08:02 PM

that's what I thought they were gunning for, but they never really played up Austin being a part of WCW for so long

CSL 08-17-2008 10:48 PM

Arn Anderson

Juan 08-17-2008 10:59 PM

Mickie Henson?

Lock Jaw 08-18-2008 01:25 AM

Wasn't Noble brought in after the Invasion?

Mickie Henson was only hired pretty recently, I think. Jamie Noble was also brought in like 2002, or something. He debuted early 2002, around Royal Rumble time, I think.

Billy Kidman is still a trainer down in FCW, even though he was released at one stage, and isn't an active on-screen wrestler.

Evil Vito 08-18-2008 10:04 AM

Wasn't Tommy released at some point too? I seem to remember him being off the Raw roster by mid-2003 or something. Then he came back for ECW ONS and then disappeared again until it became a full brand a year later

Heas never released. Just not ever used.

Xero 08-19-2008 12:45 AM

Yeah, Tommy was moved to an office position and came back with the ECW relaunch.

Lord-Of-Darkness 08-21-2008 05:40 PM

Well, while we're considering that, lets see who is left from the entire Invasion(In a wrestling role).

After a look at the different superstar pages I've come up with:

RAW :

Jericho(WWE)
Palumbo(Alliance)
Hardcore Holly(WWE)
JBL(WWE)
Kane(WWE)
Val Venis(WWE)
Regal(WWE)

Smackdown! :

Triple H(WWE, although not around at time of Invasion)
Big Show(WWE)
Edge(WWE)
Funaki(WWE)
Helms(Alliance)
Jeff Hardy(WWE)
Undertaker(WWE)

ECW :

Chavo(Alliance)
Matt Hardy(WWE)
Dreamer(Alliance)

Not that many left overall really

Xerzes 08-22-2008 02:32 AM

Wasn't Palumbo fired and rehired?

Juan 08-22-2008 02:47 AM

Yup.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 06:08 AM

of germany?

To be fair, under that rule, from that list, you could also take out -

Jericho
Palumbo
Big Show
Jeff Hardy
Matt Hardy

Because they were either fired or left, and were brought back later.

TerranRich 08-22-2008 09:39 PM

When you mean "left from the Invasion", do you mean "debuted during the Invasion and still has a job with WWE"? Because then LOD's list makes little sense.

Indifferent Clox 08-23-2008 12:40 AM

Charles Robinson is the better than anything else that was ever in WCW or ECW. That is why he is the only one still around that hasn't left or gone off tv.

The original question referred to who came in with the merger, and mine was a comparison of who is left in the company at all from the 'Invasion' time period.

Jeritron 09-01-2008 02:25 PM

Technically, Rey Mysterio came in with the merger. He was signed around the same time as Booker T and Lance Storm and the lot of them.
However, they didn't debut him until over a year later.

Xero 09-01-2008 02:30 PM

According to Wikipedia, Rey signed in 2002 and actually did a stint in the XWF and CMLL before that.

Lord-Of-Darkness 09-04-2008 07:32 PM

Listened to a podcast interview with Rey the other day. He was still under 'WCW' contract, but was told to sit it out like a few others did. He then signed on with WWE after. He said that he did a few dates in Mexico while still being paid off on his WCW contract, which technically shouldn't have been done. Then in the following April after his contract expired WWE signed him to a 3 year deal.

It's really surreal that of seven guys on RAW left over from 2001, Val Venis is one of them. If you take out guys that left and came back, then you can make him one of five.
