I wasn't a fan of the ending. I dunno. I just hate it when Joss Whedon just kills people off for the sake of being shocking. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just feels to me like such a ploy. Though I probably should have seen it coming, how he likes to operate.

Saw it coming cause I know Whedon all too well. But to be fair, if I had wrote it I would have done the exact same thing.

Disagree that there wasn't a reaosn for it though. With out it the story has no impact. I mean come on, the Evil would-be murdering villian, what? Get's the girl? Come on. Furthermore the sotry because more true to life with her death. It's becomes a story about lost loves and how empty live is without it. Works well imo.

Additionally it sets up any future parts up very well. I can see why people are upset, but in all honesty it just wouldn't have been right if they did get together. And even if Penny got either of them, it still sucks. She is either stuck with a good guy who really is an asshole. Or an evil guy who goes against what she believes in, but would do anything for her.

With Penny dead we can see more levels of emotions from the characters now, and it sets up any future parts up brilliantly.

Also, I saw it coming.
