Ok I didn't actually know Scotty Goldman AKA Colt Cabana cut a promo on Smackdown. Here it is in case you missed it. Brian Kendrick's is first but it's worth watching as well.

Also two former Ring of Honor guys going at it.

Yeah.... I hope they use him well, because he has potential to be HUGE with the crowd... I don't think he'll go far up the ladder, but like Scotty 2 Hotty used to be, I think Colt could be a huge fan favorite.

But Scotty Goldman is a much better wrestler than Scotty 2 Hotty, he has pure wrestling ability and a great dynamic that can be used against anyone. I think a lengthy IC or US title run just to show off his prowess while at the same time annoying more 'serious' performers, would be excellent.

I think I like Kendrick.

Watch Scotty 2 Hotty vs Dean Malenko cruiserweight title ppv match and say that again.

I have searched through 9 pages of youtube vids and can't find it. I have heard that was a great match. It's just that Scotty 2 Hotty wasn't known for his technical prowess, regardless of how great it may have been he wasn't really allowed to show it off often.

Goldman in his first match which is like 3 minutes, showed technical prowess, unorthodox skill, and humor. If he continues as such, I think he will make it past scotty 2 hottys lower midcard status.


If nothing else he's probably gonna be used better, because of his size. Also I'd like to see more than one good match of S2H I'm not gonna deny he may be much better than I realize but I have not seen it.

Scotty 2 Hotty was pigeoned holed into being a comedy wrestler. In his prime he was a fantastic wrestler.

Ok it was a good match no doubt. But I still say Cabana is better to much better than S2H. I've seen several matches with Colt which were more sound than this. Dean Malenko was amazing, one of the best and he's a much better wrestler than Cabana.

But then again it's all about preference, I think Malenko carried this match to an extent. Also the commentary on this was pretty nice.

One recalls the original "Scott Taylor" moniker and gimmick.

I like how the guys that face THE Brian Kendrick every week, aren't made to look like total jobbers.

Well Scotty Goldman is going to be a recurring charecter, he probably won't be a total jobber.

Matt Classic works just as well.

i don't mind the scotty goldman moniker. i just think colt cabana is much catchier, and works so well with the character that he has portrayed.

If he ever leaves WWE, he'll have to go by Chick Magnet Punk or Phillip Brooks.

That DDT at the end of the Malenko vs. Scotty match is sick, by the way. I'm a little disappointed Scotty never got to do a "I'm sick of being a joke" heel turn.

That coulda been sweet. Have a match with him as regular Scotty face vs a heel, say, if we do it now...Kozlov. And they have an epic battle, as it may be, and Kozlov is down. Scotty does the "Oh, no!" shimmy, and hops around, the crowd calling out "W! O! R! M!" and Scotty stops, waves at the crowd like "Fuck this," and walks to the back, losing via count out.

The next week, he makes the heel turn simply by stating "Guess what, kids? No more dancing, no more laughing at Scotty 2 Hotty -- no more freakin' Worm." Instand crowd reaction. But alas, we may never know.

I'm this close to compiling a list of "Things WWE Should Have Done But Missed The Mark On", including your idea of a Scotty 2 Hotty return to "Scott Taylor", tired of being a joke, kind of heel turn. There are so many things WWE could have done, should have done, but never did.

When I get Xylot Themes back up, I'll make it a blog entry. Damn PayPal bank account transfers take too long, and my debit card is still locked because of fraudulent activity, and I can't get another one in the meantime.
