Wide Screen - Unwanted Icon Shifting
I have a very wide monitor, and I find that if I place any icons on the far right of the screen, they magically shift to the left at some point. This usually happens after restart, or playing a game.
Anyone know a way to stop this from happening? |
It's probably a screen resolution problem.
Quite often when you play a game it changes the screen resolution to accomodate the game settings. You could try changing the desktop properties from "auto arrange" or match the screen resolution to your game settings. You can also use a program such as Wintidy which saves and restores your desktop icon layout. There is another solution you can make BUT ONLY IF YOU KNOW YOU'RE WAY AROUND THE WINDOWS REGISTRY - and that is to change the "Max Cached Icons" = e.g. "2000". This greatly increases the desktop icon refresh speed and minimizes the frequency and severity of icon scrambling, however, it does tap into your RAM reserve. |
