WWE Title Scramble

Yeah I took Diesel Mac's idea.

Who do you think will win on the Smackdown side?

Xero 08-21-2008 03:48 PM

I want to say MVP But I think it'll be Hunter. Don't think they'd do two title drops and I don't see Hunter dropping it just yet.

Afterlife 08-21-2008 04:03 PM

TBK!!! TBK!!!

Juan 08-21-2008 04:15 PM

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Jeff Hardy.

GD 08-21-2008 04:20 PM

I see TBK as the old school HBK with his afro bodyguard as Diesel and London as Marty Janetty.

Destor 08-21-2008 05:13 PM

Except London has talent.

Afterlife 08-21-2008 05:22 PM

It cracks me up when Ric Flair fans make fun of "untalented" wrestlers.

Rammsteinmad 08-21-2008 05:31 PM

I'm gonna go with Triple H.

Y2Ant 08-21-2008 06:27 PM

and London hasn't gone through the barbershop window yet.

Also, they haven't fought over Sherri :'(

Mr. Nerfect 08-21-2008 07:46 PM

I'd mark out like the biggest bitch in the world if The Brian Kendrick won the title. But I voted Triple H just to be a little more realistic (just a little), and to set my standards as low as possible. That way disappointment will hopefully be evaded.

If it's not Triple H walking out with the WWE Title, smart money is on MVP, I think. It'd be a heel's match to win, as it would be passed off as a "skin of the teeth" victory, and something that put the WWE Champion at a disadvantage. Shelton Benjamin is already US Champion, and it is before The Brian Kendrick's time. That leaves MVP.

Mr. Nerfect 08-21-2008 10:00 PM

This concept pretty much calls for a heel title change, in my opinion. A face winning the title here would look cheap and cowardly, so a heel taking it would make the most sense. I think the title should change in at least one of the Scrambles, and Triple H is really the only champion worth tinkering with. Hey, the sooner he loses it the sooner he can win #13, after all.

MVP, Shelton Benjamin and The Brian Kendrick are all in with a pretty good chance to walk away WWE Champion, I think. I mean, from a logical booking standpoint. Obviously there are going to be complications such as Triple H squashing them all. I'm wondering if it is too early to push Kendrick like that. I mean, it's hard to ever imagine him being WWE Champion, let alone after the next WWE PPV, just a few weeks into his heel push. And with CM Punk as the other World Champion, it would feel like a very ROH-esque WWE main event scene.

MVP or Shelton Benjamin seem like the more distinct choices. Shelton is the current US Champion, which holds him back but doesn't disqualify him. Especially if he drops the title to say, R-Truth, before the PPV. It feels pretty early for MVP, but then again, they have to fucking bite the bullet with him sometime.

D Mac 08-22-2008 01:34 AM

You fucking thief. :foc:

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 01:49 AM

It could go this way:
Kendrick should take the lead early getting like a pinfall on everyone or at least Triple H this will be done so he can still look strong because the rest of my idea simply wouldn't involve him as much.

Near the end Shelton and Triple H get falls at the same time, Shelton stealing one from Jeff by pinning, with feet on the ropes, MVP, who Jeff swanton bombed, after knocking Jeff out of the ring (that's an akwardly worded sentence and the concept would also work if MVP had his feet on the ropes and the ref didn't notice. Triple H and Shelton both get the pin in the last few seconds or whenever just so it's the last one.

So after the match there is a lot of silence/ akwardness and Vickie comes out and is seen discussing stuff with Triple H, MVP, Shelton and the refs, Triple H, MVP, and Shelton start arguing, this escalates to fighting, and they decide to have an impromptu match right there for it. But only between Benjamin and Triple H, because what the ref sees, in the heat of the match, goes.

They go at it and it looks like Shelton might win when, Jeff comes in and hits Shelton with some move causing a DQ. But since both Shelton and Triple H are still viably champion, nothing has been decided.

Option 1:
On Smackdown Triple H comes out first saying he retained his title at Smackdown, then Benjamin comes out "No I won my title", then MVP comes out "I/ you had my feet on the ropes so you didn't win anything." Triple H makes the comment "Then it's really still my belt." Kendrick comes out and says "Hey I pinned all of you guys!" Jeff comes out finally and says "I would've had that win, and I wouldn't have had to cheat to get it!"

Everything is chaos they begin fighing untill GONG Undertaker comes out and says, "When all the dust settles, whoever is champion.. will REST IN PEAEAEAEAECE!!!!"

Everyone is a little put off and even can maybe point like "He's the champion"... or whatever at someone else.

Vickie says she has a plan everyone in the ring will be involved in a 5 way match at Cyber Sunday, the catch, The fans decide what kind of match battle royal, fatal 5 way, or Scramble. The winner of which will immedietly face the Undertaker since "while you all may have reasons for believing you've won, you are also all losers!" or something.

OPTION 2
Vickie opens smackdown announcing that tonight Triple H will face Shelton Benjamin in a steel cage match. Brian Kendrick, MVP, and Jeff Hardy will compete in a triple threat for the number one contender status. The winner of each match will go to Cyber sunday and compete for the as of now vacant title.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 02:07 AM

Yeah but my ideas only involve using people WWE is currently pushing, so they are a little more believable.

That noid is a dreamer.

Mr. Nerfect 08-22-2008 02:14 AM

After watching SmackDown!, I'm disappointed with how they did the Battle Royal. Big Show was not actually part of the match, and instead just cleaned house for...the hell of it? Brian Kendrick won by default, but was tossed out before Funaki and Jimmy Wang Yang.

I can see the WWE having Big Show beat Kendrick for a spot in the match. I just hope they have Big Show try to earn Vickie Guerrero's attention by standing up for La Familia against The Undertaker, or something, and don't step on any toes.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 02:18 AM

That would fucking suck if Big Show took Kenderick's spott... BUT they could add big show to it and Jericho to raws and increase the time limit to 30 minutes making everyone happy while tottally throwing my amazing storyline out of whack.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 02:21 AM

IF that big show shit does happen, he should be the one who dominates not kenderick, and actually pin Hardy when MVP knocks him out so 3 pins happen at the same time, subsequent match still ends in a dq, 6 way can still happen at cyber sunday and instead of scramlbe the other choice can be elimination chamber or it can be the only choice but the fans decide the entrants order.

or the cage at Smackdown could be a Triple threat.

Fox 08-22-2008 02:35 AM

You're kidding yourselves if you think the WWE is going to put the flagship title on any one of Benjamin, Kendrick or MVP's waists. Jeff Hardy has the best chance, and even that's a long shot.

Triple H will lose the belt early on to one of the heels, and win it back by the skin of his teeth at the very end, probably after pinning TBK.

No screech for stealing my idea. :p

J/K anyways.

DaVe 08-22-2008 04:09 AM

What's with everyone thinking TBK has a chance? It doesn't matter how many 'The-s' you put on the front of his name, he is still a tiny cruiserweight. He is well under 6 feet tall, and much less than 200lbs. And he's not in the league of Rey's popularity (whether you like Rey or not or think Kendrick is a better talent is irrelevant).

Edit: just to make my point clear: Kendrick will never be a world champ.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 04:27 AM

everything you said about Kendrick besides the height is true for CM Punk. He isn't legit 200 pounds neither is Shawn Michaels. Punk wasn't in league with Rey's Popularity.

To say never about the WWE is pretty dumb and will come back to bite you in the ass. They are grooming him for big things.

DaVe 08-22-2008 06:10 AM

Meh. I guess it I shouldn't be so dismissive. But the guy has absolutely NO popularity. I mean, the crowd is dead during most of his segments. Punk was and still is pretty over. Kendrick isn't at all, and I don't see him suddenly being over - to the point that he'd be a champ - in the future.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 06:14 AM

Dude have you watched smackdown in the last couple of weeks?

The character is new but there has been some giant buzz around him. The way they are grooming him right now is big. They could just as easily drop the ball with him, yes, but I don't see any way they can really stop his momentum, plus he has HBK on his side politically.

Mr. Nerfect 08-22-2008 08:30 AM

I get what you're saying, DaVe, but wouldn't putting Kendrick in a PPV title match itself be contradictory to your position? I've got to agree with Clox. The WWE seem to be in love with what they have done with him, to the point where they are at least trying with the guy.

They could, and hell, probably will fuck it up, but I don't think Kendrick is a lost cause just because he is small. That being said, yeah the fans are pretty dead for his segments, but they have been conditioned not to care about little guys, as you suggested. By pushing The Kendrick, eventually people will bite into his ring skills and promo ability.

Afterlife 08-22-2008 09:51 AM

The crowd is only "dead" during his promos, and that's because it's been a looong time since he was streaking thru the crowd. People forgot his personality when he and London were muted during their title reign, and they just aren't used to him being allowed to talk. But to imply that the crowd doesn't care about his matches is simply silly. They're some of the best action we get.

Evil Vito 08-22-2008 02:58 PM

I think Triple H or Jeff winning are the only real options...or Show if he gets added in place of Kendrick.

Theo Dious 08-22-2008 05:33 PM

Taking my own idea from the other thread, I'm thinking the chances go:

HHH
Hardy
MVP
Shelton
Spanky

screech 08-22-2008 06:15 PM

I think the top choices to win this thing would be Trips MVP and Hardy. Shelton winning it would be awesome, but he already has the US Title so they won't give it to him. It's way too early for TBK. I'd mark out if he won it, but I know he won't. I don't think Trips will retain because I have a feeling that Punk will and I don't think they'd have both champs win.

That said, I'm going with MVP. They have to pull the trigger on him sometime.

Indifferent Clox 08-22-2008 06:19 PM

Shelton could hold both titles, it'd make him look great in any doubter's eyes and he could have both midcard (on smackdown) and main event (on ppv) feuds.

screech 08-22-2008 06:26 PM

I agree, Clox but do you think they'd give both belts to him? He definitely deserves it, though.

Afterlife 08-22-2008 07:29 PM

They hyped and hyped and hyped that Jeff would hold the IC and WHC titles, and then bleeeeaugh. Maybe Shelton could hold the heavyweight and US titles and not tease us so much about it first.

Kendrick's feet never touched the floor, Zeke caught him and threw him back in after Big Show left.

I wanna carry Brian Kendrick on my shoulder. :-\
