Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Saw it tonight and it was freaking awesome. The acting and script were pretty awesome and the director did a great job with it.

I've been dying to see this movie since I saw the previews in November and it didn't disapoint one bit.

el fregadero 03-20-2004 01:53 AM

It looks pretty good.

#1-norm-fan 03-20-2004 02:14 AM

I wanted to see it tonight but decided to wat for tomorrow. It looks great and Jim Carrey is the man.

Triple A 03-20-2004 02:44 AM

I am gonna see it tomorrow. Charlie Kaufman is the best screenwriter today.

PapaGeorgio 03-20-2004 10:08 AM

Was an excellent movie. Very interesting and good.

loopydate 03-20-2004 03:07 PM

I hate living in an uncultured cesspool. Every theater in the area got "Dawn of the Dead" in multiple theaters, but NO ONE has Eternal Sunshine, which is the movie I've been looking forward to for months.

I need to make like an hour-and-a-half trip if I want to actually see it.

Triple A 03-21-2004 04:35 AM

Just saw it. Holy shit that ruled so ****ing much.

Charlie Kaufman is amazing.

Vega 03-21-2004 04:53 AM

It looks pretty good. I'll probably rent it when it comes out.

I just saw it, and the trip would be worth it. Holy shit hot movie!

The Miz 03-25-2004 04:54 PM

that was top notch.

BlackRavyyn 03-25-2004 07:51 PM

I would definitely have to agree with everyone who's seen the movie - it's great! :y:

Jim Carrey does a great job and I'm hugely biased when it comes to Kate Winslet so I knew she did a great job :naughty: The other actors are good and the movie moves along at a good pace.

I have never seen a Kaufman movie before so I think I'll go and rent Adaptation since I don't know if I really want to be John Malkovich :shifty:

Supreme Olajuwon 03-27-2004 12:03 AM

omg that movie was great

I was watching it an I was all like "this is nuts" in a good way and then when I finally got what was going on I was like "this is the man"

Im happy

Mr. Nerfect 04-07-2004 07:00 AM

Who would everyone recommend this movie too? I've heard it could very well be Jim Carrey's best performance. Does anyone agree with that? I'm hyped about this one.

samichna 04-13-2004 06:09 PM

Just saw it (instead of going to school) and yeah it was awesome.

AareDub 04-17-2004 12:51 PM

Saw it last weekend and decided to bring this thread back up. I agree that the movie was awesome, but it seriously depressed the **** out of me. Charlie Kaufman is still the man. It's amazing how he can create such strange characters and situations, but in one way or another you can always relate to them (well I can, I'm assuming others do too).

One of the factors I usually use to judge a movie is if I would want to see it again or not. This movie is one of the best I've seen in a long time, but I'm not sure I could make it through another time, seriously.... depressed as hell.

Blue Demon 04-17-2004 05:21 PM

Charlie Kaufman is tha man. I liked Adaptation slightly more...but Eternal Sunshine was still good.

The Icon of Elisim 04-17-2004 05:43 PM

I liked Eternal Sunshine more than Adaptation. I just liked the flow and style better but Adaptation was probably the better writing job.

Triple A 04-17-2004 06:10 PM

I dunno which I liked more. I guess Adaptation. The only thing that slowed Adaptation down was the orchid storyline. The Charlie Kaufman shit was amazing though, so that alone makes the movie great for me.

Good News Gertie 04-18-2004 11:32 AM

It's like a better version of Vanilla Sky.

AareDub 04-18-2004 01:21 PM

Not to discredit Eternal Sunshine at all, but I liked Adaptation way better it's my favorite movie of all time. Followed by Memento in a close second :D

Dragon 04-19-2004 06:51 PM

I saw it today and liked it a lot. It was pretty interesting.

Also, there was a large fat man who was spazzing out in front of us. Like he would start sniffing non-stop really slow though. But then he would start having a seizure and whatnot and start sniffing really fast. It was the most annoying thing that someone could ever do while you were watching a movie.

you should have used a straw to stab him in the eye.

I'll be watching it this week sometime.

loopydate 04-21-2004 06:53 PM

*Dances a jig of victory*

It's (finally) opening here this weekend.

packt up 04-23-2004 01:01 AM

Yeah I saw that while I was in the US. It was the best film I've seen for a long time.

MrMeJW 07-31-2004 02:24 AM

We got the screener for this in work today so I brought it home and just watched it. I thought it was great.

Charlie Kaufman rocks my brain. He has to be the best screenwriter out there.

He was beating off.

I bought it today. Has a Charlie Kaufman and the director commentary. Hott.

El Capitano Gatisto 10-02-2004 10:51 PM

Saw it tonight on DVD. Excellent film. Jim Carrey was great, which is surprising since I usually hate him.

RoXer 10-03-2004 01:42 AM

Yeah, just saw it on DVD.

Patrick reminds me of AAA.

#1-norm-fan 10-05-2004 07:50 AM

I saw it a few days ago. It was fucking incredible. One of the 10 or 15 best movies in the history of time.

Blue Demon 10-05-2004 12:52 PM

awsopme movie...really well done

slextremely 10-06-2004 01:32 AM

Best Movie of the year right up there with Garden State and Kill Bill

DegenerationY 10-06-2004 04:53 AM

I just saw it tonight.

It was strange, but I really really liked it.

I know some people complained elsewhere that they got confused. It wasn't confusing at all to me. Kept me captivated, and entertained.

FakeLaser 10-07-2004 12:15 AM

I keep putting off seeing it for some reason.

Bazooka 10-11-2004 11:26 PM

Don't stall, it was well worth seeing.

If you're going to watch this movie and get it before the plot unfolds, you should pay attention to every detail. Kate Winslet's hair kind of hinted me as to how it was going to end half way through.

I agree. I was confused..but I'll watch it again to see if I can catch on better.
