Goldust's "Curtian Call" finisher

I remember reading an issue of Raw about superstars finishers and it was talking about Goldust's "Curtian Call". They said how it use to be a "lame lifting reverse DDT" untill he changed it to a scoop neckbreaker. My question is when did he change it? I remember the first one and when he used the snap powerslam durring the TERRIBLE turrets angle but when did he, as Goldust, ever use the scoop neckbreaker amd call it the Curtian Call? Maybe a video of a match where he used it would be helpful too.

SammyG 08-25-2008 01:53 AM

Because you touch yourself at night.

Xerzes 08-25-2008 02:02 AM

I kinda liked the original Curtain Call.

MCEazy 08-25-2008 02:13 AM

I liked the finisher where he set them up on the turnbuckle, then kicked them in the nuts... shattered dreams was it?

Afterlife 08-25-2008 04:26 AM

I've never seen the original. I didn't even know it was changed. The neckbreaker's all I knew.

I'm sure it was Shattered Dreams originally but I think I heard commentery say something about "golden globes" when he did it during his most recent WWE run. Not sure if it was a joke or a renaming.

Disturbed316 08-25-2008 06:25 AM

The original Curtain Call was what D-Von used as his finisher, Shattered Dreams was the turnbuckle ball kick.

Destor 08-25-2008 06:26 AM

The origional was a much better move.

U-Warrior 08-25-2008 09:36 AM

Yeah, didn't El Samarai come up with that one? Or was it created by someone else?

Hanso Amore 08-25-2008 12:00 PM

Now Estrada uses what was originally the Curtain call.

Afterlife 08-26-2008 04:34 AM

"Golden Globes" was the term to reference Goldust's testicles.

Gertner 08-26-2008 08:46 AM

The only time I saw Goldust use the neckbreaker is when he re-debuted against Rob Van Dam. After that, he went back to the original.

Samuria Suplex? Duno if he was the first (how can you be sure about these things?) but he was the first I can remember seeing do it. To answer the question: dunno.

NeanderCarl 08-26-2008 09:10 PM

The first finisher he used was a Gourdbuster (fall forward suplex).

Destor 08-26-2008 09:21 PM

I have no memory of this.

NeanderCarl 08-26-2008 09:26 PM

He pinned Jannetty with in at In Your House... I wanna say 4? October 1995.

Destor 08-26-2008 09:28 PM

I'm not doutbing you. Just don't rememver it.

NeanderCarl 08-26-2008 09:36 PM

I didn't think you were. Just mentioning for reference in case it jogged your memory.

Destor 08-26-2008 10:13 PM

Still don't. :-\

Afterlife 09-01-2008 03:07 PM

I still remember.

The execution on that was rubbish.

NeanderCarl 09-02-2008 11:00 AM

Good find, by the way.

Really? That was his finisher when he first came out. A front suplex? I always thought he used this

I still cant find other neckbreaker verson of the curtian call though you guys keep talkin about.

NeanderCarl 09-06-2008 09:49 PM

Yeah, that second video was what he used as his finish during most of his first run, aka The Curtain Call.

Can't remember any scoop neckbreaker but whatever it was, it wasn't the "Curtain Call".

NeanderCarl 09-06-2008 09:51 PM

Oh, no I do remember him using a neckbreaker. It was just a 'Rude Awakening' basically. Don't think it ever had a name, don't really remember it being his finisher either.

Xero 09-06-2008 10:03 PM

When did he use it?

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, he did use something like the Rude Awakening. But as CAC said, it was never used as his finisher officially, but maybe used once or twice to finish a match.

Mr. Nerfect 09-07-2008 09:16 AM

Goldust used to do The Curtain Call as we all remember it (the elevated reverse DDT type move) for pretty much the majority of his career, but when he returned to the WWE in 2002, he changed The Curtain Call to a neckbreaker (JR used to call it The Curtain Call). Then, I believe, The Curtain Call went back to being reverse brainbuster type move, and the neckbreaker became "The Director's Cut."

Goldust did used to do a snap powerslam move to finish when he had the tourette's shtick added to his gimmick, but I think they called that The Shock Treatment. He also did a DDT to finish occasionally on Heat, but I don't think that ever had a name. The Shattered Dreams did become The Golden Globes officially (I believe) during his face stuff on Heat.

I may be wrong in the timelines and stuff a little, but I think I remember most of that.

Afterlife 09-10-2008 01:24 AM

How you guys don't know the scoop/neckbreaker Curtain Call blows my fucking mind.

Gertner 09-10-2008 01:34 PM

I remember Goldust using the Neckbreak during his return feud with Rob Van Dam.

hb2k 09-10-2008 07:53 PM

It's only well known because it's on SmackdownVsRaw, he barely used it in real life...

Afterlife 09-10-2008 11:44 PM

It's the only finish I recal him using after his Royal Rumble return.

Gertner 09-11-2008 01:46 AM

He was using the lifting reverse ddt during his tag team with snitsky.

Juan 09-11-2008 02:52 AM

Marty Jannetty

Bogus.

To suggest Goldust had a finisher after his return in 2002 is to suggest that Goldust actually won matches during that run, and that's just not right.

That's when he became real popular with Booker T and won the Hardcore title numerous times. Then again didnt Godfather's hoe #3 win the title too.
