3 Doors Down

I always thought they were a good band.

Didn't know they had a new album until today. Downloading it now. :y:

El Fangel 09-01-2008 05:59 AM

OMFG, Is that James playing Waynes guitar?

DaveWadding 09-01-2008 03:56 PM

Awful. Except for the Superman song.

D Mac 09-01-2008 04:00 PM

You don't like anybody except for Maiden do you.

DaveWadding 09-01-2008 05:16 PM

no, not really.

Kane Knight 09-01-2008 05:35 PM

You mean Kryptonite, Wadding?

I liked the first one a bit, the second was better, the third grew on me. This one, the new one, I don't know. It may grow on me, but so far, I'm not huge on it.

Kane Knight 09-01-2008 05:36 PM

Also, Wadding's a giant fag who doesn't like any music that isn't preapproved by pitchfork. Oh...Wait.

Gertner 09-01-2008 05:39 PM

3 Down's Doors music is catchy. I have no issues with them.

Londoner 09-01-2008 05:39 PM

They did the eddie tribute song yeah? Great band.

Holy shit, me and DM like the same band!

Kane Knight 09-01-2008 05:47 PM

"Here Without You" Was the second Eddie Tribute song. It's not one of my favorites, but it's decent.

Rob 09-01-2008 06:18 PM

The first album was the dogs bollocks. No matter how shit they become, that album alone will make me buy everything they ever put out.

D Mac 09-01-2008 10:51 PM

That song Train off their newest album is pretty cool.

Requiem 09-02-2008 01:56 AM

They were the first band I ever saw in concert in my freshman year of High School. Was pretty good, tbh.

Fryza 09-02-2008 01:46 PM

I like Three Doors Down, they're a good lighter rock band.

They just shouldn't have released 'Kryptonite' off the bat. One-hit wondered them...

D Mac 09-02-2008 04:10 PM

Aren't you forgetting When I'm Gone? Loser? The Road I'm On? They had more then 1.

Fryza 09-03-2008 01:50 AM

They're known for 'Kryptonite'. Not for those.

Those were better songs. They should have been giving me play and air time.

But they were no 'Kryptonite'. Everyone remembers and knows them for 'that Superman song'. Not those ones.

Juan 09-03-2008 03:21 AM

Here Without You is an amazing song. ditto Away From The Sun

Rob 09-03-2008 04:12 AM

Be Like That was bigger for them in England.

El Fangel 09-03-2008 05:31 AM

"When Im Gone" and "Duck and Run"

Funny, since all those songs sold amazingly well....Doesn't that 1. Defy the "one hit wonder" monicker, when at least two of their singles have gone multiplatinum since; 2. Demonstrate people aren't solely associating them with Kryptonite?

"Be Like That" actually got a longer amount of regular rotation in the US. I don't know if it was bigger, but there's certainly an argument for it.

Loose Cannon 09-03-2008 11:10 AM

huge fan of them. every song that comes out I like. My favorite song is probably Be Like That.

And what, no way they are a One Hit Wonder. One Hit Wonders don't last like 10 years. Kryptonite made them famous, but they've had so much success after that

Actually, I just had a thought:

If 3DD are one hit wonders, doesn't that make Nirvana a one hit wonder?

Hear me out, because I'm not just bashing Nirvana here:

First off, everyone knows e Doors Down for Kryptonite, and everyone knows Nirvana for More than a Fe....Smells Like Teen Spirit. Sure, people know other songs by Nirvana, but most people know other 3DD songs, too.

More importantly, Nirvana was one of the most commercially successful acts of the 90s. In the amount of time 3DD has been active, they had like fifteen certifications for sales (Gold and Platinum). 3DD has over 20. Granted, they have a few more golds comparably, but they are a hot, commercially successful band at a point where record sales are on decline.

Clearly, Nirvana's a one hit wonder if 3DD is.

St. Jimmy 09-03-2008 01:40 PM

They're awesome... If you like Nickleback and drive a pick-up truck. Their singer sounds like a fucking hick.

St. Jimmy 09-03-2008 01:40 PM

*Is a fucking hick.

St. Jimmy 09-03-2008 01:40 PM

**Lynard Skynard, GIT-R-DONE.

Juan 09-03-2008 04:09 PM

I'm sorry to inform you that you are incorrect in your analysis, Jimmy.

One is never wrong if there is no right answer. Also, seriously. He sounds like a fucking southerner. Yuck.

Juan 09-03-2008 04:59 PM

No, see, this is a southerner

St. Jimmy 09-03-2008 05:22 PM

When did they release a song called Alan Jackson?

Juan 09-03-2008 05:24 PM

 i see what you did there

He's from Louisiana. Hands up if you're even remotely surprised that he sounds like a Southerner.

Anyway, I don't get the connection to 3DD. They don't suck, their frontman looks like Luke Skywalker instead of Jesus, and they know more than three chords.

Requiem 09-03-2008 06:20 PM

Alan Jackson is the man, so I don't know what that had to do with anything.

Penner 09-04-2008 11:04 AM

I have no problem with 3 Doors Down.

Can't get enough of this song right now.

St. Jimmy 09-05-2008 05:15 PM

You know I love you, D-Mac.

Even if you are a fan of sheer homosexuality in music.
