MVP in trouble.

New report states current Smackdown star has 'heat' wiithin WWE, info
» Reported by Adam Martin of WrestleView.com
» On Monday, September 1, 2008 at 5:28 AM EST

According to a report by Dave Meltzer, MVP reportedly has some heat on him within WWE at the moment. While not a whole lot of details are known, his work in the ring has been criticized as of late and is said to have been told to work in the ring more like Shelton Benjamin.

Ruien 09-01-2008 09:31 AM

MVP > Shelton by far. On the mic and in the ring.

Kane Knight 09-01-2008 10:07 AM

Is this real heat, or the bi-monthly "CM Punk is in the doghouse" heat we always hear about?

Xero 09-01-2008 10:57 AM

Woof.

What Would Kevin Do? 09-01-2008 11:05 AM

IF this is true, then man, god forbid someone have his own style that slightly differs from the norm.

"Too unique" and "wrestle more like Shelton" aren't necessarily synonyms. Of course, this is WWE, so they probably are...But still.

IC Champion 09-01-2008 01:37 PM

Isn't Shelton just WWE's version of a spot monkey?

Mayo 09-01-2008 01:41 PM

So are they saying all black guys wrestle alike?

:shifty:

I think you're looking for "Jeff Hardy".

Anybody Thrilla 09-01-2008 02:31 PM

I haven't seen too much recent MVP ring work. What's been wrong with it?

Afterlife 09-01-2008 03:00 PM

Maybe he was caught selling cocaine to his mic skillz.

... in the ring? No fucking way

Destor 09-01-2008 05:55 PM

In the ring definitly. MVP's psycology is a mile ahead of Sheltons.

Destor 09-01-2008 05:56 PM

Cool moves a good match does not make.

And slapfights do? :p

Hanso Amore 09-01-2008 06:30 PM

Shelton Benjamin = WWE Black AJ Styles

St. Jimmy 09-01-2008 06:36 PM

Shelton > MVP.

Super V 09-01-2008 09:54 PM

Must be a shot against Japanese wrestling, where all they do is stiff chop each other and not sell.

Mr. Nerfect 09-02-2008 02:57 AM

MVP's ring work is fine, but the more heat MVP has on him, the more chance The Brian Kendrick has of becoming WWE Champion at Unforgiven. :shifty:

Mr. Nerfect 09-02-2008 02:58 AM

If this leads to MVP busting out the Live from the 305, I will be a very happy man.

TerranRich 09-02-2008 06:22 AM

Vince: Montel... why can't you be more like... MORE LIKE...
MVP: Yes?
[Shelton walks by.]
Vince: MORE LIKE SHELTON!
Shelton: More like.... me, sir?
MVP: :'(

I'd vote for the latter.

For all we know, they just meant "work a bit harder." MVP does have a style that can come across as a bit casual at times, maybe they want him to show some more visible effort.

NeanderCarl 09-02-2008 11:31 AM

Yes, he should emulate his ring style after maybe the most consistantly internally criticised performer in the company.

Next they will be telling him he should take a leaf out of Carlito's work ethic.

Xero 09-02-2008 11:35 AM

This week on Montel - Do all black people REALLY wrestle the same style? And what this philosophy means for your promotion.

Anybody Thrilla 09-02-2008 12:18 PM

MVP reminds me nothing of Ahmed Johnson, I will say.

They both wear that nose thing.:foc:

Anybody Thrilla 09-02-2008 01:22 PM

My favorite MVP match was when he slammed Yokozuna. Also, remember when MVP was knocked out and Goldust revived him with mouth to mouth and MVP got pissed?

thedamndest 09-02-2008 01:28 PM

Too bad he got so fat...
