Apparently some TNA contracts are coming up...

Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, Amazing Kong and Team 3D all have their TNA contracts coming up, and nothing has really been set in stone for them. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts of this, and which of those TNA folk you'd like to see take a walk from the company. Would you like to see them return to the WWE? What do you think will happen?

Just some fun discussion, because I am bored.

CSL 09-02-2008 06:24 AM

I think a heel Christian would be perfect in WWE right now. Christian/CM Punk over the title for a few months? Yes sir, thank you sir

CSL 09-02-2008 06:26 AM

Also, Nash as the new Smackdown GM after Taker sends Vicki to 'hell'/under the ring to wait for everybody to leave? Fine by me

CSL 09-02-2008 06:27 AM

Awesome Kong squashing every female 'talent' on Smackdown and holding the Divas belt for 3 years? Why not?

CSL 09-02-2008 06:27 AM

Dudleyz can stay at home though

Xero 09-02-2008 10:25 AM

Awesome Kong to WWE, debuts with savage gimmick, Umaga falls in love.

They then come up with some of the creepiest tag team manuevers ever.

As long as we see them as a legit tag team, I'm good with that idea. Hell, throw the tag team titles on them a let them go in the ring with Beth Phoenix and Santino.

Mercury Bullet 09-02-2008 12:52 PM

I would like to see Christian back in WWE on Raw and Nash come back in an angle where he is Adamle's Bodyguard/Assistant GM.

Mercury Bullet 09-02-2008 12:55 PM

Also, in a time where WWE is starting to use smaller wrestlers in more prominent roles (like Punk and Kendrick) I wish they'd pick up Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin and maybe they could go be used right. How weird is that, leaving TNA to go be used properly in WWE?

screech 09-02-2008 01:07 PM

Heel Christian would be the goods on either SD! or Raw. An Edge and Christian reunion or feud would be sweet. He's really the main reason I watch TNA because he usually gets treated well (push-wise), but I wouldn't complain if he came back to Double Double E. As long as I still get to watch him (damn you, Tomko for bolting to Japan) I'll be a happy man.

Nash as either a bodyguard/assistant as Mercury Bullet said or as the GM over on SD! as CSL said would be cool. Nash seems likely to leave since he's been quite upset with TNA creative lately. He's another main reason I watch TNA, but again I wouldn't mind a return. I'd like to see a match or two out of him once in a while (maybe a win here and there) but the aforementioned ideas are great for him.

I love the Kong/Umanga idea, Xero. It would make for some great television. Do you think if Kong goes, Saeed would follow? It would be awesome to watch her lead them to tag team glory. Or to watch her lead Kong to dominance on SD! (or Raw). Or to watch her as Cheerleader Melissa. *in John Morrison voice* What ever happened to that girl?

Team 3D can stay where they are as far as I'm concerned. It sucks for D-Von that everyone hates Bubba (for being such a dick), but I really can't see either of them succeeding as singles wrestlers. Besides, they make TNA slightly entertaining.

Anybody Thrilla 09-02-2008 01:10 PM

If they gave D-Von a reverend gimmick, I think it could work.

Innovator 09-02-2008 01:12 PM

If HBK needs time off, it'd be great for Christian to fill in and take it to Jericho until Shawn can come back

screech 09-02-2008 01:15 PM

How long did that even last? I remember seeing Rev. D-Von with Dancin' Dave when he debuted. Next thing I knew, Team 3D was TNA-ing it up and Dave wandered into Evolution.

Anybody Thrilla 09-02-2008 02:02 PM

It lasted much too long. Let's just leave it at that, my fair screech.

Christian had storyline allegiances to Jericho and none to Michaels. Wouldn't make much sense. Just because his name IS Christian doesn't mean that he is A Christian, which I guess could link him to HBK, but....you know what, nevermind.

Innovator 09-02-2008 02:16 PM

Allegiances, like stealing Trish from him

Want to make a bet that it couldn't.

Personally I would like my chances.

ClockShot 09-02-2008 02:31 PM

Anything involving Christian would be great. Hooking him back up with Edge would be even better.

I'm also down with "Big Daddy Cool" Kevin Nash to come back. He has said he wouldn't mind coming back to bodyguard for HBK. Wouldn't be a bad idea if the writers are gonna stretch out Jericho/Michaels till it breaks. When that's all over, have him mentor some up and coming like he's doing now.

Xero might be on to something with Awesome Kong and Umaga. But somebody gotta manage them to make sure they're in check.

Team Dudleys are hit or miss. I could care less.

Bros before hoes, I'm sure they're over that by now. That was five years ago.

addy2hotty 09-02-2008 02:48 PM

If Christian was to come out to Just Close Your Eyes to challenge Punk, and eventually beat him, I would forgive them for all the years of pain they have put me through.

Captain Charisma versus Captain Coke.

Y2Ant 09-02-2008 05:19 PM

Christian is the only TNA guy I want them to bring back.

Thanks. Neither do your continued "witty" criticisms.

i wasn't aware they were meant to be witty. you got the sarcasm part, though. good work.

Mr. Nerfect 09-02-2008 07:59 PM

Christian in the WWE would be the goods, I think we can all agree on that. I'm just trying to work out what I'd mark out harder for: Edge returns and is going up against La Familia, and then says he brought some family of his own. Christian's titantron and theme then hit, and out comes Captain Charisma with a steel chair. Fuck, now that he's not signed on to TNA, bring in Tyson Tomko again as a third member of their group. An uneasy alliance between them and The Undertaker to destroy La Familia at Survivor Series could be really entertaining.

Another possibility is that Vickie Guerrero tells Chavo she has been seeing someone else. Chavo wants to find out who, and then one day Christian just walks into the picture, and calls Vickie a pet name. From one brother to another. You could have Christian in the same position Edge was a few weeks ago with this, or you could eventually have Christian turn on Vickie and La Familia, asking if they really thought he would choose them over his brother.

Mr. Nerfect 09-02-2008 08:04 PM

Dare I say it, I'd like to see The Dudley Boyz brought in for a few months. They are an established tag team that people actually care about. If they had a little bit of a feud with a heel team, they could really put them over. I wouldn't sign them to really long contracts, though.

Amazing Kong would be very cool on RAW. I'd mark out if she showed up, squashed some diva like Kelly Kelly, and then said that the women on RAW weren't enough of a challenge, so she wanted to face the men. She specifically sets her sight on Santino Marella, and the Intercontinental Championship. This doesn't sit well with Beth Phoenix, and you get a program between Kong and Glamarella going.

Kevin Nash is a maybe for me. I'd like to see him get one more crack in the WWE, just because he is so entertaining on the mic. I'm hoping that Triple H drops the WWE Championship soon (I know, I know) possibly due to his programs with guys like Kenny Dykstra and The Great Khali growing out of control. They beat-down Triple H week-in and week-out, and challenge him to a tag team match at the next PPV. They say that if no one wants to help Triple H (which they don't think anyone will), he will have to face them in a Handicap Match. Cue Kevin Nash at the PPV, who manages to go over Kenny Dykstra with the Jackknife Powerbomb.

Then just put him over Jimmy Wang Yang on SmackDown!, and let him and Triple H have a buddy-buddy relationship on the blue brand.

Destor 09-02-2008 08:05 PM

lol WeX

screech 09-02-2008 09:07 PM

Noid, I fucking love reading your posts.

I love the idea for Christian, mostly the first one because it would involve Tomko returning to my television and that is always a good thing. A Survivor Series matchup would kick some ass. I'm thinking who would be a good candidate to join them against La Familia, but I can't put my finger on one. I'd like to see Kane because of his history with the group and Kane and Taker is always awesome. Another possible one could be Bourne because, well why the hell not? He's a name that just popped into my head so I went with it.

I like the second one because, as I said before, an Edge and Christian reunion would be pretty damn awesome. Going that route, I could see another tag title run (or at least a match for the belts, against Hawkins and Ryder) for them. That turn could also possibly tear apart La Familia (and end Vickie's GM run) with Chavo saying Vickie can't make good decisions and lets personal problems affect her job performance. Chavo and Bam leave her by herself (Hawkins and Ryder would have left sometime after Edge) and Undertaker sends her "to hell" since that's popular these days, putting her off TV for a while (or for good).

And, as was alluded to by myself and others, enter Kevin Nash as GM.

screech 09-02-2008 09:19 PM

I actually like the Dudleyz over in TNA, so my thought is to keep them there. Your idea isn't a bad one, though. People would actually give a shit about them if they jumped. They obviously wouldn't stay long, but a program involving Orton (since there's real heat between him and Bubba) would be interesting. Orton/Bats (as heels) taking on the Dudleyz would be sweet. They have histories (Orton/Bubba, D-Von/Bats) so it would make the match interesting and somewhat personal.

I like the Kong idea. I'd love to see her dominate women and men alike. But I gotta lean toward the Umanga angle Xero suggested because that would be absolute gold.

A Nash/Trips alliance would be cool, as long as Nash turns (when it comes to an end). They already did a Nash coming back to help Trips angle (in 2003), but Trips turned on him which lead to a six-man at Backlash and a title match between the two at Judgment Day. If they redid it, which they totally would given the chance, I'd want the turn to go the other way. Trips always seems to turn on his partner so it'd be nice to see things go differently.

Mr. Nerfect 09-02-2008 10:11 PM

Evan Bourne would make a good partner for Team Edge if he were to go against La Familia, mainly because Bourne has got problems with Chavo Guerrero, and I think the WWE wants him to be moved up the card a little. More so than say, your Gavin Spearses, Scotty Goldmans and Ryan Braddocks, anyway.

screech 09-02-2008 10:59 PM

And because seeing Edge, Christian, Tomko, Undertaker, and Bourne take on La Familia would be fucking sweet.

KYR 09-02-2008 11:10 PM

As much as I would like to see Christian back in the WWE (as previous posters have noted, there would be no shortage of story-lines to use him in) and as much as I think the Dudleys COULD invigorate (or by default force the WWE to invigorate) the Tag Title scene, I really don't think it would be good for wrestling.

As much as we pan the creative writing over at TNA (and yes I'm guilty of this too) the WWE (like any other marketable product) needs good competition - this is what drives you to make YOUR product better.

TNA needs to be a much stronger force in the business. Wrestlers coming off contract and jumping ship or returning to the WWE ultimately is not a good thing.

TNA needs to get it's act together and become a true thorn in WWE's side.

I agree. I'm probably one of the few people who wants TNA to do well. They have such a good roster and so much potential. They could be right up there with Double Double E if they got their shit together. For WWE, this is good short term, but probably not long term (these guys have to retire sometime). For TNA, it sucks short term and long term. Short term, they're losing guys that have helped bring the company profits. Long term, they're losing talent because of the way they do business and that can only end badly for them.

KYR 09-02-2008 11:31 PM

I think you under-estimate a lot of posters.

I believe a lot of people who post here WANT TNA to succeed.

But, unfortunately, TNA is only half-way to success. They simply SUCK.

screech 09-02-2008 11:40 PM

Maybe you're right about people wanting TNA to succeed, but I don't think it shows very much. They aren't there yet, but the product has been better lately. Aside from lame promos from the "Beautiful People" (hardly) and others, and overkill with the superhero segments, TNA has been decent.

AKin3D 09-03-2008 02:17 AM

TNA succeed would be great, but I realised when they said they were bring Sting in, that TNA really dosen't have hope in the long run unless something changes. Every time TNA gets something good going they fuck up. I mean they can pay Stings stupid ass all the money under the sun, but they can't afford to tour or even come the the West Coast?!

Anyway Christian Cage, I love to have him back. I believe they would be able to make a storyline for him. Hell even though I doubt you guys would want to see it, Christian vs Jeff number 1 contender can't be over looked.

Kevin Nash, please go away. I loved yeah back in the day, but just let go.

Amazing Kong Japan needs you back. It's a good time to g back. The Womaen are give the men a run for their money in all companies.

Team 3D......They'll go back when they're ready. I don't know what they'll do in ring, but out of ring stuff looks great. Though I don't think Brother Ray's "wife" is gonna let him leave his frount desk job at the spa.
