Amir Khan lost

Man I feel sorry for people who paid for this.

I watched it for free :D

Good luck selling 14 more PPV fights.

Londoner 09-06-2008 06:24 PM

I listened to it on the radio.

Wow sky have fucked up here eh!

Knocked out in 30seconds.

Rob 09-06-2008 06:36 PM

Should have said, I would have sent you a stream.

Londoner 09-06-2008 06:39 PM

I already had a few streams, but chose radio 5 anyway. Thanks though.

Dave Youell 09-06-2008 06:40 PM

This always seems to happen when Sky lump on a guy, bwhahahahaha!

Rob 09-06-2008 06:44 PM

It was a shame for him because he deserves better. I still hope he makes it but he needs to leave Frank Warren and get another new coach. This new guy he has is obviously a joke.

Fabien Barthez 09-06-2008 08:04 PM

Can somebody find me a video. It's only a minute, It must be online somewhere by now!

Danny Electric 09-06-2008 08:13 PM

Good that he's only young, plenty of time to bounce back. He needs to learn how to defend, always leaves himself too open.

fucking arf

i had a feeling just from watching the weigh-in. never heard of prescott before but he certainly looked the part. i don't really hold any boxing allegiences, so it was nice to see someone getting a right pasting. some of those punches were brutal. if that last punched connected khan would've been something close to a cabbage right now.

Unless he injects concrete into his jaw, he is always gonna be in trouble.

Why does he deserve better?

He's over hyped with a glass jaw.

He's been lucky that he has fought nobodys so far. Gomez would have knocked him out 3/4 years ago but they brought him in because he's a journeyman and he still nearly did the job last time out.

Career over:lol:

El Fangel 09-07-2008 04:04 AM

Umm, that was a boxing match?

Mr. Monday Morning 09-07-2008 07:02 AM

Hahaha oh dear

So much for him unifying the country behind him or whatever the fuck they were going on about when he first came on the scene. Eat some mat, child.

Londoner 09-07-2008 07:22 AM

Just goes to show what a bunch of tossers ITV are for always over hyping khan.

Because he is a talented guy who has been severely badly mismanaged.

At 21, he has all the time in the world to comeback. Just ain't gonna be easy. Very recoverable though. Ain't like he is Audrey Harrison or anything.

ct2k 09-07-2008 09:13 AM

Meh, it was bound to happen sooner or later, and its better that its happened now rather than 5 or 6 fights down the line. Also the way it happened was probably the best way, a rude awakening if you will. He'll bounce back.

He's got serious flaws which have been brutally exposed in his last few fights.

The writing was on the wall before this performance and he didn't learn a thing from what had gone on before. Got exactly what he deserved

Renaissance man 09-07-2008 04:12 PM

He's got to got back to the basics now. Man that was brutal. speaking of brutal- check this old youtube clip out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eisx8ek0l0g

ct2k 09-07-2008 04:20 PM

This one is even worse:D

El Vaquero de Infierno 09-07-2008 04:33 PM

I don't really see the point of paying to see two plebs beat the crap out of one another. If I want to see that I can just go into Manchester at night and watch drunken yobs beat each other up... and maybe a catfight if the skanks they call girlfriends begin to kick off as well.

ct2k 09-07-2008 04:39 PM

Lennox :'(

Renaissance man 09-07-2008 04:39 PM

The "city" side of manchester I presume?

Rob 09-07-2008 06:42 PM

I don't understand the sad face with Lennox. That was major

ct2k 09-07-2008 06:54 PM

It brought a tear to my eye watching it again is why, it was beautiful!

Rob 09-07-2008 06:55 PM

Very much so. Him smashing Golota all over the place was awesome as was putting the first nail in the Tyson coffin.

The villain, as ever is one Frank Warren. Giving a guy cabbage's and window cleaners for 4 years and letting him think he is better than we all saw he was in the ITV fights, and then putting him against a rising KO machine is just mind-boggling. Especially in his first, undeserved PPV fight.

He is such an immature fighter to watch, no composure, poor accuracy, always looks dramatically weaker than his opponents. You can wish for a Nasseem Hamed all you like, but it doesn't take a genius to see that Amir Khan doesn't even come close. I never bought the fight. Solely because I watched the previous one. He looked shit, and immature and his opponent was appalling.

So I guess it's back to waiting for the Commonwealths to come around, so we can blindly assume some other hopeful is good enough to be a Pro World Champion.... Unless amazingly Audley grows some testicles.

CSL 09-08-2008 09:09 AM

DAVID HAYE

ct2k 09-08-2008 09:34 AM

Audley's bottled it too many times to be taken seriously now, which is a crying shame because beneath the bravado and fuck-ups there's an incredibly good fighter there.

David Haye is clearly the future though (who brown noses him more me or CSL?), just a shame that the heavyweight scene is dead right now, although its certainly better now than it was a few years ago, he's gonna clean up either way.

Fabien Barthez 09-08-2008 11:46 AM

Apparently, they were chanting 'You're shit, and you know you are' at Audley on Saturday. Funny.

Yeah, Haye is a good fighter, but they can't make a half-decade mistake like they have with Audley and Amir.

Tyson used to fight twice a month on his way to greatness. Get him in the ring and tearing people up as much as possible, or he is going to end up with the same story as all these unfortunates.

Apparently, Frank Warren is blaiming the Cuban coach for the missmatch.

didn't blame him for not teaching his fighter to think about keeping his right hand up for at least the first 30 seconds.

ct2k 09-08-2008 01:29 PM

I think the only possible failing point for Haye is obviously his chin, but he doesn't generally get hit enough for that to be an issue and there are few heavyweights who'll have the skills to consistently catch him off guard, and as I've already said the issue of getting caught with a sweet one is the same for every fighter regardless of chin. Also Haye's speed for a big man is superb, hopefully he won't sacrifice much of that in gaining the extra mass to go at the HW division.

I might brown nose Haye worse than both of you. Especially since I don't have a Lennox Lewis, Bret Hart or Tito Ortiz anymore

I don't think he has a weak chin either. At the top weights, if you get tagged by anyone, you are gonna go down. Simple as that. Everyone has been there in that division.

As for Audrey Harrison, there isn't a good fighter there at all. There is a very skilled boxer who hates to fight. He is very, very far from a fighter. Everytime he takes a punch he remembers he is a millionaire.
