Now THIS doesn't make sense (SmackDown! Taping Spoilers)

WWE Smackdown 9.12.08

- HHH comes out to open the show and says that everyone should but the Unforgiven DVD because he is getting residuals if you do. Jeff Hardy then comes out to the ring and interrupts HHH, they both agree that they respect each other, but HHH gives Jeff a hard time. This leads to the announcement that the main event for the night will be Jeff Hardy vs. MVP vs. THE Brian Kendrick vs. Shelton Benjamin for a title shot against HHH at No Mercy.

- Maria, Michelle McCool and Brie Bella defeated Victoria, Natalya and Maryse

- R-Truth defeated Chavo Guerrero

- Festus defeated Kenny Dykstra. Jesse and Festus tied up Kenny after the match and took him away. Some people started a "Deliverance" chant.

- They show a video package highlighting the Undertaker/Big Show brawl from the PPV.

- Vickie Guerrero makes her way to the ring. She explains that the Undertaker didn't follow the rules, and that is why she and Big Show have formed a power alliance to deal with him. Vickie then declared that this alliance will make Big Show WWE champion once again. It was hard to hear the whole promo, due to lots of heat on Vickie.

- Vladamir Kozlov defeated Scotty Goldman and Funaki. Kozlov demands more competition.

- Carlito and Primo Colon defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins in a non-title match.

- Jeff Hardy defeated MVP, THE Brian Kendrick and Shelton Benjamin to earn a WWE Title Shot at No Mercy.

- After the match, Vladamir Kozlov comes to the ring and beats down Hardy.

Forget about the Chris Jericho/CM Punk stuff. Primo Colon switching brands and teaming up with his "jerk" brother is the true illogical happening of the week. No, I'm not complaining, this is what they should have done from the start, I'm just pointing it out.

I wish The Brian Kendrick was getting the No Mercy shot, with Jeff Hardy and Vladimir Kozlov feuding heading into the PPV, but what do I know? That should be a really fun match. The Colons versus the WWE Tag Team Champions should be, too.

Gertner 09-10-2008 02:45 AM

At least we have another tag team. This brings Smackdown's total to 3, one better than Raw.

Juan 09-10-2008 02:47 AM

Maybe they made up...?

Well that would seem to be the case. Carlito as a face is the way to go, in my opinion, because RAW is stacked with mid-card heels (Shelton Benjamin, MVP, The Brian Kendrick, Kenny Dykstra, etc.). It'd be good for him to balance things out. Hopefully he has the dreads still.

Juan 09-10-2008 02:54 AM

I really hope this works out for Carlito and Primo.

Shadow 09-10-2008 02:57 AM

....the ending makes no sense but...YAY FOR JEFF GETTING ANOTHER SHOT!

NOW DON'T FUCK IT UP YOU ASSHOLE!

Mr. Nerfect 09-10-2008 03:02 AM

I actually think Jeff Hardy may have a shot against Triple H. The Game can't be WWE Champion forever, and he needs to lose the title to win it back. I can definitely see The Hardys each with the top title of their respective brands. Jeff will be the first guy to pin Vladimir Kozlov to really build some momentum for himself into the PPV, I think.

The Colons would make damn fine WWE Tag Team Champions.

addy2hotty 09-10-2008 06:16 AM

Triple H takes 'phoning it in' to a whole new level.

Afterlife 09-10-2008 06:32 AM

"The Colons". That is such a shitty name. :shifty:

Fox 09-10-2008 12:31 PM

Maybe Jeff loses his title opportunity to Kozlov.

I'm sure he celebrated with a acid drop and an injection of heroin.

Seemed like a pretty illogical show full stop.

Aside from the Colon thing we had Vickie come out to announce the Power Alliance between her and Big Show that will result in him being WWE Champ yet she DOESN'T put him in the Number One Contender Fatal Fourway later in the night!?!?

And from what I read elsewhere we also have Bam Neeley cost Chavo his match only for R-Truth to take them BOTH out!?

thedamndest 09-10-2008 02:01 PM

I think Primo and Carlito would work best together for right now. Whether that is a love/hate relationship, or brotherly one-upsmanship, I think this is the right call. Primo would have gotten lost on Raw.

RGWhat316 09-10-2008 03:08 PM

So much for Cabana getting any type of push. When he teams with Funaki and still jobs to Kozlov, he's screwed.

addy2hotty 09-10-2008 09:05 PM

I'm guessing that Koslov becomes a Russian Pimp character within a year or so.

Juan 09-10-2008 09:07 PM

Scotty doesn't know.

Triple Naitch 09-11-2008 12:21 PM

I would be cool to have Carlos Colon Sr. be their manager and force them to team up together even though they don't get along. They win all their matches, eventually the titles, and then turn on their father saying they don't need him anymore.

Afterlife 09-11-2008 01:12 PM

'Cause they're all grown up!

Kane Knight 09-11-2008 01:46 PM

Wow. That really is a mystery.

Mooияakeя™ 09-11-2008 07:27 PM

Has WWE ever made sense in recent years?

If anything, I can see Kozlov being inserted in this match for a 3 way to take the pin, so Hardy doesn't look weak, as he's done alot of jobbing recently

Afterlife 09-12-2008 10:43 AM

I say Jeff takes an MVP Drive By Booting backstage and Kozlov is put in the match last minute as a replacement and then WINS.

Kozlov as champ?

Are you on crack?

C'mon, that's just lazy booking. Even WWE wouldn't pull that kind of bait and switch on their fans.

Wait...
