Does he really have a PhD in something?

No, hes called dr tom because he played the part of a doctor in some storyline years ago or something. The story was in one of his wwe.com commentaries.

Correct spelling on his name is Prichard (like anyone but me cares).

But here's the scoop (if I remember it all the right way - forgive me,
I occasionally get hit with things). Prichard was down south working
with Robert Fuller (Col. Parker) and Jimmy Golden (WCW's Bunkhouse
Buck). They were working an angle (-like Gerard said above-) where
they'd get busted open all the time.

They had a guy set up to be a "doctor" who would escort them
to the ring to make sure they weren't hurt anymore. Well,some-
thing with him fell through,and that was that. So they were all
traveling,and Prichard was wearing doctor's pants that a friend
of Sherri Martel's had given to him, and they both decided that
he should be their "Dr.Love" and come out with them. The rest
is history....
